Assume the fronts still work. They will need to make a new rear setup hopefully.

Finally some competition for the SC5M. Proper weight bias for clay, plus the tuning options. Hoping the rivalry will be a boost to 2WD SCT! Will the A2954 gear diff fit?

The Losa2954 gear diff will fit, however TLR has a new gear diff coming out around the same time as the kit. Frank mentioned it in the TLR Live Facebook feed the other day.

Thank you. Missed that the first time. Great video by Frank. He says it will be like the gear diff for the 22-4, so it will be a planetary diff, correct? Any advantages over a bevel gear diff?

Yes it will be similar in design to the 22-4 diffs so it will be planetary. As for advantages over a bevel gear diff I'm not 100% positive if there is. I will leave that question to Frank. :)

The serpent gear diff is a good alternative to losi gear diff, it seals better. Just needs a few shims and you're good to go

Those rear hubs looks awesome...Love how TLR is always advancing their products.

I never thought I'd see my self sitting here posting in a TLR thread,I guess some may wonder why Id say such a thing, but if I had to answer for it I assure you it would sound like the same old mumbo jumbo we sit around the track politic'n about supporting our favorite brand, anyway this thing is Beautiful !!! Perfecto !!! they pushed the motor and tranny back so far its rear motor but then again its mid motor :) they widened out the chassis in the rear to grab more air while in the air to support all that A$$ its actually a battery thing but that sounded better, I can tell that rear end is going to stay planted like an oak tree, ahhh and the front ,well they just laid those Beautiful Big bores down, right down !!! just the way I Like'em, can I get a Amen !!! this thing looks more like the off spring of my Sc-r than the Sc-6 does. looks like daddy is just going to have to adopt a winner !!!

all jokes aside its just nice to see the new mid motor Sct's more refined and built to perform like its OG's XXX with the new materials technology and advancements, I was honestly just complaining about this then Snyder had posted a video witch gave better clarity on the new rigs and there set up window's vs the old and I believe that window just got wider with the 3.0

Frank

Do you have an OCRC setup for the New Truck? I have always found your ocrc setups to be a good starting point for me. I really like your stock nats setup on my stock buggy

I do, I'll get it posted before the truck ships.

And I was beside myself to admit that the new chassis looks "sexy". Phil, I agree, this truck is SCT porn lol!

Man Bubba you got that right its my third time coming to look at it today/tonight  !!!

stelio279 11-22-2016 08:57 AM

Frank,
The truck looks impressive. As a mechanical engineer, I can definitely appreciate what looks like a lot of engineering and design effort that went into this thing.

Once concern though for my own track: I'm a bit worried that this truck will NOT be better on lower grip, actual real dirt tracks. Not even necessarily loose and loamy, just not a high grip clay... :-(

Already for testing it seems that the setup was searching for more rear grip:
- rear-most battery position
- inside most hole on the rear arm
- looks like lower rear roll center

During the video there was mention of comparing weight bias and how there is more rear weight bias on the 3.0 vs. 2.0. However, I'm guessing that this was comparing to a MID-motor SC 2.0?

Questions:

- How does the weight bias compare to a standard rear-motor 2.0?

- Do you have an idea how this would fare on a low-medium grip dirt track (example: a track needing Enduro, Blockade, Enduro 2, Double Ds, Flip-Outs, Square Fuzzies, etc.)?

- what option parts would be needed? (Brass rear hinge pin holder? 4-gear tranny?)

Thanks!
