So I keep destroying the Spur gear on the above mentioned vehicle, does any one know if there is a better spur gear out there that will fit this model?

Unfortunately, the Helion (Hobby Town Brand) is still relatively new compared to big names like Traxxas, Losi ETC. So getting parts to your local hobbyshop has been a logistical nightmare and thats just for stock parts. Being that they are still so new a lot of the aftermarket companies have yet to develope upgrades. However I have had customers with similar issues. I found that their gear mesh was to blame. Utilizing a piece of paper I would pinch it between the spur and pinion gears. This gives me the perfect spacing between the two. Not too tight and not loose enough. Customers that I have done this set up for have yet to come back for another spur gear, instead its other parts from them crashing into things. Another thing to think about is your slipper setting. If it's too tight, you increase the risk of putting too much stress on the gear and again stripping it out. Start it out lite and make small increases per your drivingstyle and driving environment.
Hope this helps and happy playing

Getting parts at a local hobby store aren't a nightmare if you live close to a hobbytown as helion is a hobbytown brand. My local hobby store has walls of parts for helions as it is a hobbytown.
I think something is off on your setup. I have a volition with a 3800kv motor and a dominus SCT with a 4600kv motor. Both have steel pinions and the stock plastic spurs and have been ran dozens of times without issue. You need to adjust your gear spacing.
I don't believe hellion makes any metal spur gears.

I am having the same issue. First gear lasted 3 minutes on a brand new car. Replaced the gear with the mesh method and it lasted 10 minutes. I'm having the local machine shop CNC me a spur gear out of stainless. If it works, I'll post a reply up on here and have them make more, then just send them to anyone who needs it at cost of what it costs me.

I think the above user post is either full of it or he's just not using a Helion brand. I put a third plastic gear in and stripped it smooth as well and I took special care in aligning the gears. In beginner mode on the controller, it runs fine, but bump it into standard mode and my gear just kept stripping. I personally think the plastic gear gets too hot in standard mode and the teeth on the gear literally melt and thus strip away.
All that said though. I had them make four and the first one I put in is acting flawlessly. I'm keeping the others but am willing to give the other two away. $50 to me via PayPal gets you a steel spur gear. I know it seems pricey but the machine shop charges $125 an hour so it is what it is. Message me if you want one.
Edit: I am also running a 5000mah with 50C

For those if you who don't want to pay machine shop prices, Vkar racing makes a metal spur gear. Might have to order from overseas though, I can't find any where I live atm. It is
Part number: ET1096-S
Part name: Steel spur gear 52T
Part number: ET1096-S
Part name: Steel spur gear 52T
