Default buggy fell own a storm drain motor got wet

yep, i was bashing around and in a moment of space cadet, it rolled backward down a storm drain and landed on it's back end and stayed that way, motor partially submerged, rest of electrics high and dry. so i pulled up the manhole cover and retrieved the buggy. it still runs. seems to run perfectly normally. but for sure, the motor was at least partially submerged. is there anything i should do to it. put some triflow on either end of the can? disassemble? it's a stock team associated reedy 3300kv brushless.

I'd spray it out with some common motor spray (or the regular equivalent). main thing would be not letting it sit wet. And relube the bearings.

Yeah, I'd probably disassemble, spray out with motor spray, dry everything with compressed air/air compressor, relube bearings and reassemble.

The main thing is probably just not letting the water stand/dry on the sensor board.

Back in the 80's we used to bed New brushes in by running the motor in a bucket of water.

The motor looks to be sealed up pretty well. Maybe you didn,t get any water in the can.. I know I splashed through a puddle and and some water went through the vents on my Orion vortex and it smoked immediately.

yes, for a brushed motor, not for a brushless

however, brushless motors are pretty waterproof.... so jsut try it out, hit it with some lube, and it should be fine.... just want to make sure it is dried out, if it isn't it will rust

This stock Team Associated, Reedy 3300kv brushless, appears sealed and not disassemble-able. But it's not. I found out in another thread on here that the back cover is glued on and you can pry it off... Which I did. And I'm glad I did, because there was a little water in there even though the motor appeared to run well. So I dried out by leaving the open can over the heat register in the floor, overnight for a couple of days. That will have sucked out any moisture in the windings.

Do I still need motor spray to put it back together? I don't have any lying around.

Nope. Just oil up the bearings.
