OK, everyone is posting up pictures of their latest and greatest. I'm going retro and posting a pic of my very first.
The batteries and the decal on the wing will tell you how old it is. Back then there were no "conversions" let alone purpose built cars. I made the motor mount and battery trays myself.
Yes, I actually raced this (against nitros, since that was all there was), the very first E-8 at my track. More than once, I had to goose the throttle as a marshal was thoughtfully carrying the car back to the pits because he neglected to read the decal on the wing.

It has been so long it is hard to remember, but I think reasonably competitive, given my driving ability. I never won with that car (there were way better drivers) but I wasn't at the tail end of the pack. In order for the nitro guys to let me race I had to agree not to be eligible for points in the point series.
