Default AKA red "evo" foams and regular red foams??

I accidentally ordered the AKA "evo" red rear 1/10 buggy foams, what I needed was the regular red rear 1/10 buggy foams, does anybody know if I can just use the evo foams? or should I not and just sell them?

Any advise would be great!

They won't fill a non Evo tire/wheel how you most likely want. You can buy a set of the Evo conversion bands and use the adhesive foam strips to take up the gap in there, or do something similar to that on your own. If it were me though, I'd return/sell them and get the standard foams.

You've probably noticed that the EVO foam will fit the tire fine, but fits loose on the wheel. You could take up the slack in the wheel by wrapping it with thick tape until the foam fits, but then you are adding rotating weight, which may or may not be an issue. You could also cut a section out of the EVO foam and glue it back together to take up the slack, but then it won't fit the tire quite as well. It'll have more air, soft spots and the tire will deflect considerably more. There really isn't a perfect way to deal with it other than getting the right parts.

looks like I ll probably just have to sell them, can't believe I didn't notice "evo" when I ordered them!!!

why do people use the "evo" setup? you need they evo tire and the evo rims to work with them.

The biggest advantage is the ease of mounting the tire to the wheel. With the EVO system there's no "lip" on the outside of the wheel. They mount just like 1/8 buggy tires. It makes mounting considerably easier since you don't have to line the bead up with a narrow gap. The other benefit being that the sidewall of the tire is slightly lower profile, creating less sidewall deflection.

Here's a YouTube video that explains the EVO lineup.

And they're a much lighter tire/foam/wheel setup
