Thanks, how was the rear with the 35? I haven't ran mine yet, bit I built it with 32.5 in the rear and 37.5 in the front. What did you start with for rear toe and anti-squat? I built mine with the aluminum c & d links. I run on a medium grip outdoor track and have decides to start with 3.5 toe and 2 anti squat
One of my friends runs the kit set up with 37.5 front and rear with a totally stock truck and it looked smooth. He won expert today. Last FYI, it was 106 out today. That kind of heat on a sugared track creates incredible traction. |
Ran my daughters sc5m for a few laps with the kit setup, aside from the 35wt oil in the front. It seemed miles better than the last sc10 I drove. Maybe it is the MM or Alum chassis, but it was not as terrible as I imagined it would be. Front springs are too soft for our track, imo. I was nosing down if i tried to scrub, but if I kept an even throttle off the face, it jumped flat. But I think that is just our new layout. I had to do the same thing with my buggy.

Anyone using 3 hole pistons yet?
|
I love how I have never had any "real" issues or complaints with these 5 series builds.....
|
Building the SC5m was really nice. Most of the parts went together well. Can't wait to try it. Only one of the turnbuckles that came with the kit had no thread. Oh well. I will inquire about the warranty later. I don't wait to wait 1-2 weeks for a replacement. Just need to run to the hobby shop to get a new turnbuckle.
|
I also had 1 turnbuckle that was defective, I just used an extra set of the Blue FT Ti that I had as a spare set for my old SC10. IMO the stock ones are as soft as warm butter, but I am new and cant drive for crap.

Brother had 2 problems with the kit. One turnbuckle had ridges, not threads. What was suppose to be threads, just went all the way around, not on an incline. The other was he had (2) rear body mounts in the kit. Other than that he says it was a good build. We will try it out in a week. he is on vacation so no racing this Thursday for us.

Raced my car this weekend at a local trac: link below
https://www.facebook.com/QuietdellRacewayFairmontWV and the truck worked awesome bone stock! It turns on a dime just like the SC10 does. I had an issue with it a little nose heavy and i just moved my esc back to compensate. You can tell its still someone of a light car compared to driving the losi 22 SCT. I just purchased a square pack to try this Friday as well and will let everyone know what i think. What gearing is everyone running right now. I have a 9.5 and was running a little warm with 22/84 setup |

does this SC5m use the same offset wheels as the old SC10.2?

yes

Yesssss!!!!!! what is the ideal motor to use with the new SC5m? I do have a new trackstar 8.5 and an X car 120 amp ESC, but would that be enough?
I didn't want to do a 13.5, I wanted a faster motor than that but not crazy power. 7.5? 8.5? |
you are fine with what you have
