hi guys... on the new 102 buggy there was some last minute testing going on... its all good though..

the new gas buggy had a high demand and sworkz worked really hard to meet and catch up with demand.. then the new 4wd evo buggy just came out which all are really proud of a great car.

the new 2wd car you should look for around the 2-3 week of sept. not sure yet if its coming out standard with the black plastic composite towers or the new graphite ones being tested.. kinda like the new stuff on the 4wd car.. also some other upraded ideas were put into the car from the first posts on it... setups are pretty figured out as well as manual so its going to be one sweet car.

The car is easy to tune and is easy to drive fast. look for other new things coming from sworkz soon... :-)

The S12-1M Pro Kit.
The S12-1M chassis platform was designed for racing. It has a mid-front gear box with a lower position spur gear system. The motor position is 65mm away from the traditional gear box (S12-1R). This will improve the cornering speed when racing on carpet tracks.
The S12-1M also features a 3mm 7075 chassis layout that allows up to 4 different battery types and positions. The buggy comes with a 6mm aluminum front shock tower and all the lower arm holders are made of strong aluminium.
SWORKz designed a Pure Oil Shock System (no shock bladders) for quicker shock response and improved suspension feel.
The S12-1M comes standard with the innovative Eaglet body designed with rear grip and steering response in mind. The Eaglet body provides a well balance feel in both mid-motor and rear-motor configurations.
The S12-1M platform was designed from the ground up and is the perfect model for the serious racer and weekend hobbyist alike. The smart and efficient design incorporated with a cost-effective and user friendly platform was our primary goal from the beginning of the S12-1M project. We now introduce to you the SWORKz S12-1M......

after a lot of testing with the 102.. sworkz decided since so many tracks now are either carpet or super high bite clay tracks to go with a refined version... many of the features were put in to help make the car work in these types of conditions...
there will also be a outdoor motor version coming soon after.. and conversion parts so you wont need 2 cars.

You will soon see that many of the manufacturing companies like associated , losi, hb, and yok are also all testing some designs that move the motor forward more and some have totally different setups not seen in 2wd buggies before. The sworkz will be a great buggy... team drivers should receive more info on the new cars shortly after worlds... and the kit setup is set for higher bite astro type tracks with the sworkz purple fronts and green backs.. shocks will interchange with the 4wd so all new pistons and springs will interchange. and options like alloy hubs and lightweight parts will be available shortly after release.

To be honest since the original prototype car was unveiled in Germany, I merely assumed the delay since then had come off the back of the success of Yokomo's YZ-2 and that the car had gone back to the drawing board, with the emphasis now being on the laydown 3-gear transmission and forward weight bias.

This is great news for the UK and Europe who predominantly race on the high-grip astro turf and carpet surfaces, so it's great to see the S102 (Or S12-1M!) being offered ready to do the business on these surfaces.

Still not sure about the changing of model names though, it makes less sense than it did before

My guess being that sworkz offers 6 different 48 pitch pinions the S12-1M would include a 86T plasic spur

ashalak.... ya the whole name change thing is weird.. they are doing it with all cars.. I think it makes it easier for them..lol the s12-1m pro is the first one that will be put out then they will do the s12-1r for standard trans/motor model... it will have the motor 65mm farter back then the M model. the 104 evo is also known as the s14- something... same with the 1/8 buggies..

keith.. yes the gear diffs are nice for the carpet... I know there will be several options for spur gears on the new buggy... only thing I found was the new slipper got hot and changed the feel on the car... if you take off 1 section of slipper it stays consistent and works great.

So is the "standard" transmission going to be a mm, just moved back and not so yokomo-ish?

hey corey.. the 12-1r which is sworkz way of dropping from the 102.. and the 1 is the 1st generation of this car.. the R is for rearward motor.. the M is the mid forward motor version.
lol.. like how they simplify things..

anyway... the 12-1r is supposed to be the mm rear mounted and rear motor mount option in the same box. this is what they originally were doing.. but then with the high demand for the carpet tracks... that's why they did the M model. Hope that makes sence. :-)
