If the front arms have a little web connecting the arm together outside the hinge pin you have some version of the standard kit (it might have the mid rear arm conversion on it).

The SP has different arms on it front and back and the caster blocks are different. Take a picture of those and I can tell you right away. That is the most obvious change on the car between the two. Just take a front tire off and shoot the picture of that area.

The bullet body is a lot like the SP body without the roof scoop and larger side scoops for air.

It's pretty easy to tell...if your front knuckles look like this:

You have an original ZX-5.

If the knuckles look like this:

You have an SP.

Hi all,

Looking for a little aftermarket guidance here. Out of all the companies making aluminum c-hubs, knuckles, rear hubs and such, which manufacturer makes the tightest tolerance parts? I've got a ZX-RR that I'd like to bulletproof/remove slop from the suspension and drivetrain and was looking at the 3racing stuff but I'm unsure of their tolerances. If there are other manufacturers out there that I should look at, a link would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!!!

I don't run any of that aftermarket stuff but kyosho sells shims in .1, .2, .3 mm sizes you can use to shim out any slop you might find. A little slop is required for the parts to move freely. Make sure you dont shim stuff too tight.

By the look of the pics I'd say I not got sp. but for $125 and not a scratch on the bottom i'm ok.

It's not the horizontal wear between hub and arm that I am concerned with, it's the new hub's that wobble on fresh hinge pins as if the holes were ovaled, the slop between the outer race of the bearing and the hub...that sort of thing. Also, the way I drive I could use the peace of mind of the aluminum parts
