With the truck mod in yz2 dtm2, I see a big problem. The motor is set back some, so where the channel use to be for the motor has a bit of a clearance issue. As the motor sits now, it practically is sitting on the chassis. There goes your motor or sensor board after a couple of slaps on the chassis.

I believe that is why the truck has a slightly differently milled chassis.

So we should have bought the truck chassis?

Oh can fix with gearing, to move motor forward, so it works well until new chassis comes out

[QUOTE=Also, how is everyone running 69T & 72T spur gears? Looks like there is no option for the three pad slipper below 80T, unless you buy the $40 adapter kit used in the worlds edition. I purchased the older vented 2 pad plate and some spurs, but was wondering what others have done.[/QUOTE]

These have worked for me with no issues on my YZ-2 CAL2. I used all three slipper pads from the kit 80T to the 69T.

USUALLY when you run the smaller spurs (69, 72, etc..) you're running 17.5 class. As a general rule of thumb, you don't need, or necessarily want, a three pad setup for 17.5. More rotating mass = slower spool up times and lack of punch on the track.

Actually, I correct myself. There is a revised part now: Z2-0023 has been updated from Z2-0022 with an extra set of holes to accommodate the YZ2-T transmission waterfall.

I fully agree, but I like having the option to run one when traction falls off. It gets quite cold at my local tracks here, and a few of them have clay that turns into a dusty ice rink when it's cold. I was looking for three pad compatible gears so I could run the 2 or 3 pad plates when I want and tune for slip. 80% of the time, a locked up 2 pad slipper is perfect... but that other 20% I have come to really appreciate how smooth this 3 pad unit is. Turns out, all of the "dual pad" specified gears others have listed above are actually three pad compatible gears(Z2-SG69D & Z2-SG72D). Funky wording on Yok's part.

So I pulled the trigger and ordered all these parts to do this conversion. I have been disappointed lately with the way my car has been handling at the track. I strictly race on High grip Astro Turf. I have noticed some good feedback from this conversion. Last night at a club race I had the opportunity to try this conversion out. I didn't know what to expect just that I hoped it would make the car a little better. I just haft to say that I am extremely happy with this conversion. It totally changed the handling for the better. I set personal best times and was able to hang with the fast guys at the track. More corner speed and handles so much better. I couldn't have been more happier. I cant wait for next race day.

For all current YZ-2 Series vehicles, these parts are needed to do the conversion:
Z2- 302TLC-LC Transmission Case
Z2-302CT-Gear Box Cap / Diff Height Adapter for YZ-2T
Z2-304T-Aluminum Motor mount for YZ-2T
Z2-300RFT-Aluminum Rear Suspension Mount (Front) for YZ-2T
-2mm front and rear shock towers.
Front shocks from YZ2T used in the rear.
YZ2T battery conversion

Z2-118T-Battery holder / Radio Tray for YZ-2T

For what you have listed, I am assuming you are referring to the truck front shock on the rear mod. Did you feel other than the lower shock towers and the yz2t shocks on the rear were required to do the mod as far as the lower shock towers go?

The limited Worlds Edition had some upgrades vs the older DTM that are shown in the instruction manual add-on. Some of these (updated rear arm mounts and steering rack iirc) made it into the DTM2 kit, others like the aluminum bulkhead mounts not. The various manuals can be found on Yokomo's website or the petitrc YZ-2 set-up page in the wiki above.

Finally got a chance to break in my YZ-2 DTM2, and swapped in the most recent iteration of Trinity approved motor. This chassis generates so much traction, and it jumps like a magical little cloud. Absolutely blows my 22 5.0 out of the water.I went lighter on damping from the kit shock package (30f/27.5r) and changed springs as well (pink fronts/orange rears). Running with an LCG battery and a 36g battery plate the chassis generates a lot of steering and side bite, whilst still being able to develop a lot of forward traction.
