I would look at your current limiter settings, I did this in loose conditions the other weekend and it made a huge difference. The little bit below is from Randy Pike's RC Blog (he's the team manager for Tekin)

Current limiter is a setting that allows the esc to ease the power being applied to the motor. If your CL (current limiter) is at 100 that’s considered “off” and no CL will be utilized. At 80, you’re getting 80% of the available current applied to the motor. Now if you have a condition where the car is simply too powerful at the lower parts of the throttle, current limiter is your adjustment. It can help control wheel spin, wheelies, and just too much power overall. CL does NOT limit top speed, it does however smooth out the power at the lower stages of throttle.

are mbx7 towers the same as the mbx7r towers? the mugen carbon fiber towers are out of stock most places. I see Avid has mbx7 carbon fiber towers, are they the same? this is my first mugen so still figuring it out. Also do mbx6 or mbx7 bodies fit the R?

Question, how well with the stock setup do on a small/medium size track with low grip and bumpy?

Also, is the shock shaft lengths correct in the manual? Seems like the #'s are incorrect and it would be too short?

Another new MBX7R Eco owner chiming in. It's my first true e-buggy kit & Mugen product, and I have to say...it was a pleasure to build.

I do have one question. For those of us looking for a bit more acceleration, would it be advisable to run the optional 42/12 gearing? I'm currently running 16t pinion with the stock 46t spur.

42/12 gives you a FDR of 11.83 I believe. 46/16 gives you a FDR of 9.71 I wouldn't change the gearing. I would go up in center diff fluid before I went to that gearing. You will have a ton of pop off the line but top out in 10 ft. I run 46/16 and if I'm not careful I will really overheat, I just run 7k in the center and have plenty of rip. With the gearing of 42/12 your motor will hit top end and heat will come after that. Going thicker in your center diff is quick and risk free of melting down a motor.

if you need more acceleration, go to the 42/12 gears front and rear. that is what we are doing in the nitro car and it's working very well. This puts the FDR around 12.5, stock gearing it's 11.98, below the average of 1/8 buggies on the market. For what it's worth, the 8ight 3.0 has a FDR of 12.22.

I see in one of drakes set up he runs a 44 spur...Would this improve handeling of the buggy since the motor is closer to the center line of the chassis?

shamless bump.

Not sure about color...white base with blue secondary and black or gun metal for trim was my first thought.
