Default Decent basher for kids

I need some recommendations for a basher for my kids. They are getting old enough to go goof off with them on our property but don't want them messing with my rt6 or my 22. Mostly looking for durability and reliability. They had a traxxas rustler but that thing was such a POS and something was always broken on it. Thinking along the lines of a sct or SC buggy but open to most anything off road. How say you?

ECX Torment. I've seen so many take a fierce beating and keep going

This or a traxxas slash. Both are good bashers.

Yes! I bought one for my 7 year old son and my 2 year old boy will run it in the backyard and he's hit just about everything including our brick house at full speeds and the thing still keeps trucking. I think I spent $170 on it at the hobby shop and have only one complaint. The esc wires will come undone from the motor but a little solder will fix that.

It's hard to beat the ECX vehicles. My son has a Circuit, and my Dad has a Ruckus. Both have needed a few upgrades (axles, metal gearboxes), but neither has ever broken a single chassis or suspension part. Best part is that they're also cheap, and are starting to get some aftermarket support.

I've also taken the Torment to the local track with me to test it out and it's actually not too bad...Of course, I wouldn't consider it race worthy but it gets around the track pretty good for what it's worth.

I know someone that has one as a basher and won a B-Main at a trophy race with it. He just ran it so he'd have more than one class to run. stock body and tires, hobbyking esc and speed passion 3500kv sensorless motor. we had a good laugh although I imagine 2nd and 3rd didn't find it funny finishing behind a torment. I think it was the first RC trophy he won too.

Thanks. My lhs has the esx trucks so maybe I'll check them out. The rustler is just a POS. Shock caps popping off, bent drive line etc. And they aren't being too tough either.

I have beat a slash 4x4 and never broke anything that cost more than 25$. I passed it onto my daughter who has tried time and time again to destroy it and can't manage. Few bucks here and there is all it takes to keep it running.
