Default If D3.5 17.5 is allowed for blinky, worthwhile over other motors?

I have a lot of track time, but never race, although will be starting with 2wd stock/17.5 blinky buggy using my C4.2/Centro and a Speed Passion 17.5R MMM motor with a Tekin RS Pro. The D3.5/non-ROAR legal is allowed for club racing, and is it a worthwhile purchase over the Speed Passion 17.5R motor I currently have? and Maxilla or regular D3.5 Trinity motor if so?

*My other vehicle is a Durango 4wd / dex410v3 and the 17.4 2wd is actually fun to drive; so different! the 410 absolutely rips with my Tekin RSX/6.5 setup.

thank you,
Harry

Yes, bigger wire will always be faster. It's illegal for a reason. Maxilla usually works the best.
