If one tire brand is at an obvious disadvantage to other brands at such a big race,it's not uncommon for a driver to use a tire that he isn't sponsored by to give him a better chance to win.

All the top drivers have an "exception" clause in their contract when it comes to tires.

Maybe not all, but most. Depends on the tire manufacturer. I haven't checked with any of my local drivers to see what their options were. (won't mention what brand)

Cav had benefited from everyone elses mistakes but his car was pushing like a dump truck on all the corner exits. Phend made a great comeback and went all in on the triple to steal A1 on the last lap. Let's hope Cav can get that car to turn off the corner or consider this one in the bag for Phend.

someone is saying "i dont always dominate fast laps, average laps, and practice and quals then give it away in the mains, but when i do, i drive a 22-4.

So, the track looked slippery all mains day. I guess it's the same for everyone but seeing the top guys sliding around was different.
