Default is the B4 platform extinct????

ok guys, I just about ready to jump back into the game with my last current set up from a couple seasons back

which consists of a fresh built b4 factory with most updates to make it a .2

will I still be competitive with this sucker, I am hearing a lot of buzz on how the new b5M is one to get. I also see people practically giving away there FTB4.2's.....

+1 - I'd drive what you have, wrench on it for a few weeks, then make the determination to upgrade if you feel it's necessary.

Rather or not you will be competitive has a lot more to do with you than it does the difference between the B4.2 and B5.

If you do decide to give away your 4.2FT, please let me know. I'd love to try one again.

so true, last time I was out the competition was brutal in this class, it seemed like one error and you went from first to last.... I am going to try and get out there and run this weekend. I will update and investigate this rumor that the b5m dominates. lol

Well I still have my 1st GEN B4FT, and it still kicks ass on the track against all the newer chassis. To repeat a quote that someone said to me: "It's not the arrow, but the indian that fires it."

If you decide you want to try a mid motor car you might want to look at the X factory cubed. The conversion is less than a b5m and I like mine better than my b5m.

The B4 chassis will still be around at the club level for some time. Its a great proven platform with probably the best support.

It's all relative. If you can drive, you can be competitive with just about any competent car. If you run with drivers who are all at the same level, with same equipment, then a "lesser" car MIGHT hinder you, but that's rather hard to prove. Whenever racers claim its their car holding them back, that usually really means its their driving skills.

I wouldn't go by the fact that a lot of people are selling their B4.2's. Some of that is just people insisting on having the latest/greatest all the time. It's always fun to buy new things, whether you really need them or not.

You have it, run it, you want something else, get it... but the car is not extinct until you can not get parts for it in my opinion. In the right hands though it will be a force at the track for years to come.
