Questions?? Anyone messing with Trophy Trucks? vs SCT?

Lately I have been watching alot of custom 2wd Trophy Truck builds, very nice indeed!, and the way they handle and drive. I was wondering if this is something to look at for true 2wd rc off road experience? Here's a couple of vids of custom jobs people have made. Just curious about this class. Solid rear axles, with insane trailing arms and travel.

Pretty cool. Could be a fun way to spend some garage tinker time.

real life Trophy Trucks vs SCT pro 2 are almost the same the only thing different that i know is the travel (Trophy Trucks has about 10 inches more witch a pro 2 does not need). so this is more Independent vs solid Trophy Trucks

+/- of the solid rear ends
+ put more power to the ground in straight line(has more weight on top of the wheel). - wend it goes thru whoops is spins more time in the air(the more unsprung weight make it harder for the suspension change direction). - in a high speed turn it has a higher chance of putting less weight on the in-side wheel making it diff out more(vs Independent where each side has it own travel so in turn one side is pushing up in the turn the other still can push down so you keep more weight on the ground). so over all a Independent would keep more weight/grip down vs solid that can put more weight/grip down.

but still would be way cooler to see a solid rear ends class.

Lol, what are you trying to say? I think it would be cool to have a conversion kits for trucks like the 2 & 4wd slash, etc, to convert them to solid rear axles, long arms etc. Just bolt to the existing chassis and maybe drill a few holes.

This is what SCT should have always been!

The video at the top is mine. I've built a few others since then. But I haven't
made any videos, there's just pictures. An answer to your original question
could be that I'd say it's like an unlimited class. Build whatever you want. The
latest truck has a full Chromoly chassis, 7" long TL's with 4" travel and the
front has 4" long control arms with 3.2" of travel. It weighs an obscene
amount and runs on 4s with a MMM2 system. I use the SC8e Body as well.

Little bit of an old post but I noticed this thread looking for 1/8 trucks
and recognized the thumbnail of my video. I wish there was a class
for racing these like a builders class of some sort.

If you watch Robbie Gordon's super stadium truck series, they run similar full size trucks on just about any surface, including asphalt. It's really cool to watch them lift the front inside tire when exiting a turn hard. I would love to attempt one of these.

Canada Bud, have you ever taken one to a track to see how it would perform out there?

RC4WD makes a kit to convert a 2wd Slash to a trophy truck.

http://store.rc4wd.com/Hardcore-Slas...t-_p_1085.html

I would race in a class of these in a heartbeat. I'm not worried that they wouldn't handle 'perfect' here or there. IMO a new challenge would be fun. I'm sick of the current rc 'platforms'. 2wd's are all the same whether you call it a buggy/stadium truck/2wd sct. 4wd is all the same too.

The conversion cost more than the truck did

Its only money... But you have to figure that if the big manufacturers got in the game the kits wouldn't cost any more than your average 2wd sct.

It's just a matter of time before someone throws an SCT body, wheels, and tires on a Yeti chassis (I'm sure it'd take a few more tweaks). That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the first body-off shots. I wouldn't be surprised if Axial released an trophy truck in the future.
