From what I have read not many hop-ups are really needed the 20oz. brass D suspension mount was about it. I have seen some opting for the alum. steering but other than that most are just preference and not a got to have type thing. Also on the weight I think I am going to run just a little bit on the left side because of how I routed my motor wires on the right. will post a pic as soon as it uploads.

General Truck Questions
I am looking at upgrading from my T4 to the T5 for 17.5 club racing and Jconcepts mini series they put together here in Florida. I went through quite a few posts but have not seen anyone mention the Kashima shock bodies does anyone here run them? Are they worth the extra money? I am looking to move from novice to stock truck with this kit. Any tips and tricks are definitely appreciated and welcomed!

Anybody try out the new SC springs from AE on their T5M?
I installed the fronts with the 5mm spring cups and they felt really tight, so I put on the 0mm cups and it felt better. The new springs are considerably longer than stock.
Just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

I run the Factory RC Avid/Sheele slipper eliminators in my T5m. It can wheelie but it's not too much to deal with. The truck is heavier and while running the 3 gear I don't have any control issues in regard to wheelies.
If you plan to run stock, I can tell you that the MIP trans is worth every penny. It not only provides the least amount of resistance I've ever seen in a transmission, it reduces motor temps by drawing heat from the can. Nearly 20 degrees in my testing.

Today I got a Trinity D4 17.5 on order from Team EAM and that MIP Eco all in one transmission ordered for the T5 I would have ordered the kit with the transmission but I want to support a LHS and grab a kit off their shelf. Can't wait to get this kit and built!
After I build it I will sell my Kyosho RT6 it just has zero parts support locally, I will off load it for around $280 it has 5 laps on it.

There are a lot of opinions on what certain hop ups mayor may not be worth. What I can say is that 20 degrees cooler on the motor means less fall off due to motor temps at the end of the run.
There are a lot of places to spend $$ on. In my humble opinion, this is one of them. The stock part is just fine. But no way did it spin as free as the MIP box. On top of that add the heat reduction and you could be talking tenths.
It's an investment like all other hop ups. Some add bling, others add strength, some reduce weight, others reduce lap times.
