Default Flex seal for body

Hey guys I am new here and to the RC world. I have heard a lot of using shoo goo and tape on the inside of bodies. I used my Dromida as a test and I used the flex seal rubber spray from those as seen on tv ads and it has worked phenomenally and I am not sure if anyone here as tried it. I am trying it on my Stampede today and will update!

Sounds like a good idea but how much heavier is the body with it.

I was going to wait about five race and or practice days to open up a thread for this. I applied the rust oleum equivalent it flex seal on my pro line sct new body. So far this stuff is great. The body has held up great. I applied a heavy coat in the front and rear and a light code in the middle. I also resurrected a beat up body with shoe goo and dry wall tape and the rust oleum product. It does add weight, but I don't care.... I hate drilling holes and cutting bodies. My next body will not receive paint...only the rubber in a can product.....so far so good.... On one note though...if you have a crack already I think drywall tape and shoe goo will be better.... But the rubber in a can stuff appears to be a great preventive tool...time will tell.

The Plastidip spray on stuff works wonders for micro heli canopies. Could try that as well.

That's an awesome idea. So you think that you could just paint the stuff on? It comes in black and white right? Where can I get the Rustoleum equivalent and what is it called??

Could probably use 2 of them for water skis.

We were talking about this recently and its cool to see that it works.
Gotta be easier and neater then shoo goo.

I purchased the rust oleum product at Walmart but Home Depot should have it. I may try flex seal one day.

I put some plasti dip on my last 1/10th scale wing and it held up
very nicely despite some hard knocks.

I use regular rustoleom spray paint after painting my shells on the inside. Adds virtually no weight and I then only have to use a minor amount of shoe goo

Plastidip is cheaper and easier to find. Comes in more than one color. I sometimes use it to paint single color bodies or use it for flat black on the outside.

Been using the clear & back liquid tape from harbor freight (same as plastic dip I believe) for 2yrs lol
I told a person or 2 about it locally but they "prefer to use shoogoo.."
I spray 2\3 coats in front corners of my onroad cars and I can pretty much make 10+- racedays with out any cracks in the fenders . It has only added minimal weight (10g ish) but I bake all my bodies at 170 for 15 minutes to save about 5g.

My painter has been using Flex Seal for a couple of years. It does add a little weight but not enough to notice while driving. It has dramatically added to the durability of my bodies, especially in sc.
