Default exo motor/esc help

hey everyone just bought a barely used exo kit and have a ton of aluminum/carbon parts on the way for it. so now its just down to my ideal electronics set up. i plan on the exo being my all weather/all season electric basher since i already have a nitro muggy. so ive been looking at either the viper vtx8 or a castle creations mamba monster 2 since they are both waterproof/ fan cooled and have the head room to push high power 550 motors without breaking a sweat. so... do i go sensored or sensorless? i love my viper touring car esc/17.5 motor but i hear that sensored motors are usually not weather friendly. so im obviously leaning more twards the castle esc but now my question is what is hands down the best 550 motor? im looking for all out power in the 3500-4200kv range that i can run on 3s since thats the most common battery i have. ive been looking at the castle 1410 5mm but id rather have the extra torque of the 1415... also been looking at the lrp dynamic 10L 4 pole but i have no idea how to compare motors.

He did not say hot, I assume he was getting at the wet stuff. And yes, they are not "waterproof" like some sensorless setups have themselves marketed.

i would like a motor with lots of torque but can still rev out for that little extra top end. not fall on its face near the top of its rpm range

exactly, my goal is to be able to run it whenever/wherever and not have to worry about watching $300 fry when it clips a puddle or a snowbank since we tend to have lots of rain/snow

castle motor, and an esc of your choice. do remember, you will have to essentially take apart the entire car every time you run through water.

the exo is a bad choice for a car to drive in any water at all. it is very enclosed, and lots of screws are involved.

Not really. I blow mine out with an air compressor. Granted, I didn't put the interior in. But it's not all that bad. Although, mine is a red-headed step child or RC cars. It's my dedicated skatepark bash car

Blowing off with an air compressor is a bad idea. It will tend to blow water deeper into important things like bearings and screws.

It's a basher , and with a little care the WD40 hose down followed by careful airblow isn't too bad. I do have a couple cars out of the fleet that get treated like that. Well, one. gas 5th scale. I also don't believe there are waterproof electronics I don't care what they say. My exo and other non racetrack cars never see water either, no way.

If you WD40 the bearings before you blast it with compressed air that will not push water into the bearings, mostly WD40 if anything. So, yeah that is the quick and easy way to clean it up to take it in

WD-40 = water displacement/ lubricant 40th try, and im not saying im planning on puddle jumping but when youre bashing shit happens so id rather have equipment prepared for the occasional run in the snow if i want or if i let a friend drive it and they lazerbeam for puddles and every other solid object in the park lol. i plan on replacing all bearings with bocca sealed like i do in all of my vehicles

If you want to run 3s you want to be in the 2700-3300 range. The motor out of the rtr scte is perfect. And the hobbywing sc8 is waterproof
