A brother on rc10talk did a lil comparison between the USA n China stealth trannies n it showed the idler that comes with the worlds to be a problem too.
Top shaft is machined wrong....case is too tight....idler has a high spot....Just a plethora of maladies...
Basically, they took a legendary tranny....had the Chinese defile it for pennies on the dollar ....then re packaged it as name brand quality.
This is heinous.

All that being said.....I love that car!!
Drives/handles awesome....can take a beating (super durable) and looks GOOD doing it.

I liked it so much so, I went out n bought a 2nd.....n then a 3rd.
Saving a build for one of those "snowed in"days sure to come in a couple months.

.......n it handles the power...got a 5700kv in there with a 100c pack....That thing tears it up.

That's pretty much the "fix" for it. Apparently a bunch of top shafts that came in the kits were machined wrong (including mine) AE sent me a B4 top shaft to replace the defective piece.

Interesting... I just received the "warranty kit" from AE and there is no top shaft included, just the idler gear and gear cases.

Default worlds

I built one. I did have one ball stud with no threads. honestly i just laughed at it. trans was a little tight. I let spin with no load at about 1/3 throttle. It took a little time but it spins fine now. I enjoyed building the car. reminded me of building one when i was younger.

I just finished mine, although it's just a shelf queen roller for now. I made a few changes that include ball bearings in the steering rack, Lunsford vintage turnbuckles, correct 6565 transmission case, vintage style idler gear, and I trimmed the ears off of the rear bulkhead so it looks like a proper World's bulkhead now. If I ever decide to run it I won't have to do much to get it ready. A few people have seen it and it's a fun conversation piece. It was a fun build. Maybe I will post some pics later.

Got a question guys.....Instead of the AE Flanged Bearings(#897), can the Kyosho 1/4 x 3/8 Flanged Bearings (#KYOBRG303) be used in the steering bell cranks on the World's Car? There's a huge difference in price.

What "warranty" kit is that?

I had to jump through hoops with AE just to get a top shaft, had to send them a copy of my receipt and everything.

Warranty kit eh? I dropped in an old top shaft when I built mine a few months back so at least my gearbox would turn over. If there are other parts that will take out the remaining binding then AE should be more forthcoming with the info on how to get the parts.

Given the QC issues with the RC10 Worlds Car it will be my last AE purchase for quite some time. Everything else was OK, but if you can't get the gearbox right why bother taking money from your customers.

I was on the fence about the B44.3, but with all the bad press I'm glad I went with the 22-4 instead.

They had a bad run of top shafts that went into the kits. Just call them and tell them. Send them your proof of purchase (receipt) and they'll send you a new one free.
