Looking over chicky's setup sheet, I don't see any about adding weight.

In really low grip or bumpy tracks I add 20 grams right in front of the rear tranny case.

Love this truggy and want to get really serious about racing this upcoming season. I'm going to follow Chickys setup and order parts 600611, 600476, 600136. I have the rear v2 uprights in alluminum already and wanted to know if i got the 10 degree c hubs in alluminum will it make a difference in setup, does having same parts in aluminum/plastic change anything else besides strength? What other parts and extras should I order as well?

I am about to buy an e-truggy and the Cobra is a likely candidate, but I have some concerns about parts availability with new buggies excepted very soon. Any advice in this regard?

It's a great truck best etruggy out imho.I haven't needed to replace a single part in over 6 months, this truck is a lightweight tank.I had the new durango dex8t and broke alot of parts in the 2 weeks I owned it. Made the switch, never been happier, and also getting 4wd buggy in 1/10 and new nitro in 1/8. I've had no problems getting extra parts/spares/and optional parts from amain, desoto racing, stormer hobies.

Hi everyone! I recently purchased myself the Serpent Etruggy RTR. Im using it for bashing only as there is no race tracks for 1/8 off road anywhere near where I live. I just wanted to tell you guys how happy i am with the truck, its solid as a tank! Only running 6s and no problems so far, except a broken front suspension bracket, which are plastic on the RTR.. replaced that with new aluminium brackets front and rear. Also replaced the stock aluminium shock towers with the optional light weight alu towers, not because it needed it, they just look amazing. Also changed the stock plastic servo horn with the optional alu. I was however dissapointed that the manual says that the steering servo is a DragonRC(savox) so I thought it was a 23 tooth servo like savox usually is? So i ordered the 23t horn, turns out to be a 24t servo.. my fault for not doing the research. Well anyways, just wanted to tell you guys that im really impressed with the truck. As RTR its the best bang for the buck basher by far, comparing to my previous trucks, E revo brushless, tekno et48.3(didnt really break anything on it, but easily twice the price), Thunder tiger mt4g3, savage, stampede.

Questions?? Serpent e-truggy RTR vs kit

Hi, I am about to purchase a Serpent e-truggy really soon and have some questions.

Background: I have recently gotten into rc and am now playing with a Traxxas Stampede (4wd brushed). I want a faster car with better build quality. I will mainly do bashing but hopefully some track driving too but most likely not participate in races. After a lot of googling and forum studies I have settled for an e-truggy. As I live in Sweden not all models are easily accessible, for example it is hard to find Mugen and the RC8T3e can I only find in kit version.

Questions:
  • I am tempted to buy the RTR version instead of kit for a couple of reasons:
  • * It would take me some time to figure out a good combination of motor, esc, servo, radio etc and locate some vendor.
  • * I am not that sure of my building ability although it would be fun to try. I don't have any airbrush equipment though and I assume that the kit body comes unpainted.
  • Does the RTR and kit version differ in any way except that the kit version comes without motor, esc, ...? Ie, will diffs, shocks etc be better in kit version?
  • If I want to run 2x3s lipos I assume I would need to get a sensor based motor to handle the higher voltage at lower speeds, right? Or is it crazy to run 6s with 2000kv motor, ie will it generate too much heat?
  • One vendor close to me has the RTR bundled with 2x2s lipos at 7600 mAh (VANT BATTERY 7.4V 7600MAH 75C ROAR APPROVED, VANT7600-DE) and a charger (EV-PEAK CD1-XR TWIN CHARGER 2X10A, CD1-XR). Are these lipos and charger reasonable or am I better off shopping around?

Thanks in advance.

/Peter

Looking for 600673, rear body mount. Looks like it's discontinued.
