Default Hi voltage servo, need some help...

So I have a Savox 1267 SG and I had it in my SCTE with an RX8. Well the internal BEC on the RX8 crapped the bed and a guy at the track told me it was because of the servo. Is that true? Is it drawing to much current and overloading the bec of the speedo? I am asking because I am out of other servos and trying to get my 4wd buggy built. I am going to put an RS Pro (gen1) in there, is the servo going to kill the esc?

Savox seem to always have a problem with high current draw. You need either an esc with a high power internal bec or try a glitch buster or external bec

A glitch buster? I am not having radio isues, but will that help with the draw? Can I run a lipo to the rx like they do with nitro buggies? I just want to know if people are running that servo off a RS Pro with no trouble, but want to ruin another esc.

Let me guess, you have a Spektrum radio and receiver also? Always a problem with Savox servos and Spektrum receivers. Most people just run a cap with those servos. You can still use that esc with an external BEC. Friend of mine had same setup and problem. I gave him an external BEC I had and its still working fine to this day. Was like two years ago. Don't know if servo had anything to do with it though. I think you pretty much have to run a cap with those servos unless esc has a really high amp rating for BEC or else you will get brown outs.

Yes, if your rx can take the voltage. You must remove the red wire between the esc and rx if you go this way.

Should be just fine with a cap. Helps keep the voltage from sagging.

I'm asking because I was previously using it with an RX8 and the internal bec on that esc died. Wondering if it was because of the servo draw or it just happened.

I'll take my HV time bomb ticking and clicking Hitec over a Savox, I've seen alot of trouble with them where we run. Lot a guys hate the Hitecs but some have xome to the dark side after a couple Savox.
