Default Need 1/8 basher/ light racing help please!!!

So I want to get a 1/8 buggy. I have a buddy thay has a HB de8 hhh for a good deal. Also been looking at the duratrax new 1/8 buggy. Seen a lot of rc8.2 and rc8e for sale. Some mugen mbx6 ecos and a losi 2.0e. I ruled out the eb48 BC I'm not going to take this to any big races and if I ever get the urge to take it to an MX track I don't think a 550+ buggy is a good choice. Want to bash and club race. I don't plan on jumping houses but I do play to get rough with it at times and would like it to hold up as well as drive good in the track.
Any input will be great thank you..

And last note. I am a decent driver I plan to land on the tires lol

The Ve8 and 8ight-e are both good choices for your application.

The associated rcb8e makes a great basher, and it is also decent on the track out the box!

I chose a D8t-e based on the durability of the HB platform.

Really it's an 1/8 scale buggy, find one that has great local parts support, and pick your poison. They are beast in there entirity, or get a truggy and have even more of a beast.

Obviously this is my opinion, but the HB Ve8 would be a terrible choice to bash unless you buy one with an aluminum chassis on it or put one on yourself. When I had my Ve8 I snapped 2 chassis. One was actually the chassis and the other time was just the rear skid. Once I put a tekno conv. on it, it was awesome. And this was racing, not bashing. Granted I had a heavy finger back then, but just throwing my $.02 in.

I just ordered the Duratrax 835E RTR from Tower as my first entry into 1/8 ebuggies. About $330 with the club saver special and coupon. When I get it, I plan to take it apart, loctite metal-to-metal screw connections, change the oil in the diffs, the put it back together and start tuning it up. It looks pretty durable, and the reviews I have read of the nitro version seem mostly positive. Time will tell, but I have a good feeling about it. I also like the looks of it more than the other 1/8 buggies I was comparing it too (like the RC8.2e RTR).
