I am having a hard time finding a used tekin motor or a Truggy. Everybody is selling buggy motors. Has anyone used a 1900kv 4030? If so how is it? I found a killer deal on one with the rx8 included. I did find a 1700kv 4038 but it's in Australia and I don't really like buying from places so far away.

Hey guys I forgot what degree the truggy come with 10 or 15
|
So I have ordered mine! This is my first electric truggy for such an amount of money... and the first one with a ready-to-run motor-mount, that also works well.
So far I had mainly self-made conversions (over many years). Except the LRP-conversion set, where I changed the motor-mount with something selfmade, which worked better. So this is kinda new to me. Hope this truggy is rugged, I guess it is. Currently I run a LRP/ZCar, which is pretty bullet-proof. |
A lot of guys that race use the buggy 1900 so as long as you're not running a lot of back to back packs or using big MT tires/wheels you should be ok.
Ok we'll I missed out on the deal for the 1900. I knew it would go fast. So my next question is. The tekin site lists 4s 5s and 6s and which motor you should use for each. I usually run 5s and tekin site says to use 1700 or 1550. And 4s 2000 or 2250. Should I really stick to that or would I be good running 5s with the 2000 or 2250? I will probably only run one set of packs then let it rest for a little to cool down then run another set maybe.either that or run only one set... If that matters. |
Has anyone try the 10 degree cast on it if so what did it do

It's as fast as I can possibly use. I can more than clear the largest triple on the track. Unless you have a really crappy 5S battery I can't imagine using more than 1500-1700 KV with that voltage. |

I am still trying to decide on a esc and motor. I Have a castle mmm2 and 2200 in my other truck and it's been great I really wanted to try tekin out this time but I just don't like that it is not waterproof. All motors can get wet right? It's just the tekin esc that isn't waterproof? Is anybody using a viper vtx8 esc or have any good or bad experiences with them? It is sensored and waterproof and also looks pretty cool. I was thinking of running that with a tekin 1700 kv motor (run on 5s) or a mamba monster 2/2200kv. I'd be willing to try a viper Motor too but it looks like the 1:8 scale motor only works up to 4s and I usually run 5s so I'd have to use a tekin or some other sensored motor that can get wet. I also see castle is coming out with a monster x that is sensored but idk when it'll be out so I don't know if I would wait for it. Need some advice quick

Et48 Truggy wheels
This is my first Truggy... What wheel offset is the norm? 1/2" or 0". I'm used to running 1/2" offset on mt but it seems like most tire wheel packages have 0" offset. Is aka gridiron hard compound a good tire to run for just bashing around? I don't want to be replacing tires a lot so figured hard compound would be good.

0 is the ones you want.
