Also I think they are more efficient in the truggy. I have the 2000kv and made a 20min main on a large outdoor track, and my SMC 6500mAh battery was still at 3.7v per cell.
Cain said his 7200mAh died around 19 min using the 1900kv buggy motor.

i use an smc 5000 pack and I always make runtime. Never had an issue

Alright I took a look at rotating the assembly.

From what I am seeing, there is no way to really get the sensor wire to have proper spacing from the Viper VTX8 ESC without making the motor wires in an very awkward position if I am understanding this right.

damn ... :(

I run them in EB48 with no issue, and in ET48.

Cain 10-16-2014 05:46 PM

you run the Tekin truggy motor in the Eb48?

buggy motors no issues, plenty of space, the truggy motor puts the sensor wire so close to the ESC from what I am seeing and others have posted pics of that if you have any flex there I could see it bumping the ESC, and I think someone posted here they thought that could have been what shorted their's.

I didn't feel comfortable enough to run it that way so I put in a buggy sized motor and now have the Viper 1900 in it and it feels great from initial testing.

I probably have the same SMC pack that you do lol.

Part of me is thinking that as we up the ante with the battery mah, we also increase the weight, and in turn how much burn-through we see as well. Kind of a give some take some situation.

And with say a lighter motor as someone else has commented, wouldnt be surprised if in comparison to a torquey truggy motor we push it harder.

Racing seasons over, but I may play with the feel fo the vehicle with the 5000mah packs and see how it goes.

Does anyone make a truggy length motor that has the sensore point accessible like a novak ballistic motor?

quick question. i'm considering getting a nt48 for next season. now in feb i usually go to motorama which is an indoor 1/8th scale electric race. so my question is what would it take for me to make the nt48 in the et48. is the chassis different? i know i will have to get the electric motor mount ,rx box and battery tray. i assume that the front and rear are the same?

Chassis is different, and pretty sure the rear diff ring gear is different, along with the rear diff case. Might be able to be done, would have to take a good look at it.

wondering if its worth spending the $ for a 3 day event. etruggy is almost non exisitant where i race outdoors.

Hard to say that's up to you. Its a tough call. Will the fun of building it, and racing at the event be worth losing probably a few hundred bucks + for sure. Now I have done things like this, and if I did good it was worth it. lol Otherwise im

It will not be non-existent at Motorama. E-truggy this weekend at LCRC at 28 entries which went to a C-Main. FYI, the ROAR 1/8th Electric Nationals will be at LCRC also in July of 2015.

i know mororama will have plenty of etruggys. i ran it last year. i normally run at t&l and i only remember there being a dedicated etruggy class there once. all other times there may have been one or two and they were mixed with the nitro.

Hey guys love this truggy! what are we all running for esc's and lvc? I gots a dilemma:
Hey buddy I noticed your comment on low voltage cut off. I have a similar question as to the person you were responding too. You say to set lvc on an esc to about 3.4 volts per cell. I just tried that, actually I set mine at about 3.55 volts per cell but whats boggling my mind is my cell reader is reading each cell at that voltage just about which is good but the min/max is reading only 8% of charge left in each cell? Doesn't make sense right? 3.55 per cell is a good and safe cut off I hear and my cell reader reads that as the voltage for each cell when the esc cuts off, but it also has a percentage bar and each cell only has about 8% left!! Shouldn't it read at least 20% per cell left? Or do I need to re think my lvc setting based on my lipo capacity? (4200 mah)

The last bit off voltage of a cell dropped off very steep. I'm assuming its correct

Agreed... Motorama is the biggest e-truggy race of the year. I lost count how many pro and non-pro heats there were.. I want to try to hit LCRC this year as well, looks awesome. 2 very good size etruggy races at CRC Raceway in Rome, NY as well.. Rumble in Rome and the IGEC race.

For the other guy try to align the viper like the hobbywing 150a or better yet get the hobbywing 150a :P You can move the esc wire to a different hole or just do something like this to get the space needed.
