As of right now it will be using the same spindles as the buggy, so 8x14mm bearings on the outside. There shouldn't be an issue with durability as the stub axle is also supported by a 13x9mm bearing on the inside with 15mm of space between the two bearing faces.

lol we don't really have seasons in cali. instead we have high prices on stuff, we are taxed to hell, and we have some pretty crappy laws.
cali = heart of rc :D |

Ok just wondering, 8x14's would last half a pack, maybe a pack if I was lucky in my Serpent Truggy. The serpent buggy didn't have an issue with them. I guess the longer arms and more weight is what would blow them out. I'll be watching the thread for a couple months after its release to see how they are holding up.
mine are fine, i ran it for over 10 hours before my RX8 and 5 cell lipo went poof. |
What battery tray size will it have? I hope it will be the same as Tekno V4 conversions since they are just enough to fit those Turnigy 6S packs :D
Also, helical or straight-cut diff gears? |

I am thinking about getting one of these bad boys when they come out!! Just wondering if you guys had any info on hobby wing xerun motor-esc combos?? If so what combo would you recommend? Also I have a castle 2650 in my buggy would I be better off putting that in my truggy and getting like a 1800 or 2000 for my buggy? I would like to stay fairl ay cheaper on this so I really like the price of the xerun. I will also be running on 4s since I already have a few batteries for my other car. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated

Also, helical or straight-cut diff gears? Straight cut gears for best efficiency.

Updated the truck to the v2 front and rear end which uses 8x16's. I just don't want to buy another rc that needs another $200.00 for an "update" down the road.

Up until I saw the DEX408T announcement, this was going to be my next e-truggy, but sadly (for ET48), DEX408T simply looks better in every department.

Anyway I think Tekno's truggy will be nice. Though it does need a stronger motor mount (front diff holder). My EB48's has failed several times now. The flange on the bottom bends and it is impossible to keep the motor straight. No way will it hold a truggy motor unless it is beefed up. |
I don't race, I only bash, so driving characteristics is not something I care about one bit. To me durability comes first, and everything else second. That's why I got an RC8T V4 instead of any other number of choices :)
Motor mount is actually about the only thing that worries me in the DEX408T, I just feel that for bashing the motor needs at least 4 screws to hold it. I'm also baffled as to the absence of exact material specifications on DEX408T product page - I'd be interested to know what aluminium theyse (6061 or 7075), as well as what kind of steel us used for drivetrain components. In that regard, of course, a Serpent truggy would be the ideal choice, but I'm not sure when/if one will be released. |

A sponcered driver/dealer had one at my local tracks months ago (link below). But I plan to buy the Tekno (if I get a truggy). I like the EB48 a little better than the serpent 1/8th buggy and I bet I will like Tekno's truggy better too. http://youtu.be/Nfd4xEmGHvc |

Durangos 1/8th buggy looks nice too but drives like a piece and don't even get me started on their 4x4, DNF anyone? Now the serpent looks nice.
