This car is so crazy good in rear motor outdoors. I can't believe how good it is. I thought it was decent in MM but found B5M to handle better indoor for my taste, the PRS 1 went on the shelf. Dusted it off and converted it to RM just for kicks and all I can say is wow. It's outperforming any 2wd buggy ever driven outdoors. The steering capabilities are amazing. Im back in love with this buggy! if you plan to race outdoors at all this car is a serious advantage.

This is why I've been running associated gears and pads. It seems more difficult for them to slip from the spur.

Hey all

I've got the SC version of this car and yes ... the spur gear kinda sucks with the limited height of the inset for the pads. Have any of you needed to modify the AE spur gears to get them to fit? Seems like the top shaft is a little thicker than hole in the JC spur that I have.

Cheers

Yeah you need to ream the hole a few times and they will fit normally.

How can you be sure that it's precisely in the centre when reaming? That's my worry

Even new Spurs aren't perfect. You get it close and it will be fine.

Perhaps you can help me...
Prs1 v2 mid motor config
Shorty lipo in front, esc in back
class: 17.5 stock buggy d3.5 17.5

My problem is this... Our track is indoor blue groove that they spray a military grade acrylic glue on top of the blue groove. I get awesome traction using barcodes in gold compound but they only last 2 1/2 qualifiers. They hook up great till the center of the tire looses its tread, then its all over and my lap times go up by 1.4 seconds... I'm using Aka red premoulded foams for my inserts. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I've tried harder compounds only to sacrifice traction due to the hard rubber. Could it be that i need my battery in the back and my esc up front? Maybe excessive wheel spin is causing my tires to wear prematurely?!? Anyone? @ Thanks in advance.

MIKE

That's about right. Tires are made to offer maximum grip but the higher the grip level, the quicker the degradation. Serious top level racers tend to destroy a set per run so they go through 2 qualy runs and the main, each with new tires.

I've had days where I've gone through my rubber like that, but generally tires last me 2 qualifying rounds and I always run a new set for the main. Panther is the only company who's tires are actual rubber and they tend to last longer. Most others are an artificial rubber composition that's engineered to maximize grip but sacrifice durability to do so.
