I have been running REVTECH killshot 17.5 for about over a month now on 2wd buggy I must say its the best motor I have ever owned lots of torque and top end never had to change gearing in all 3 tracks I race..

I agree. I'm running the Express Motors, torque motor and it is a rocket ship. Very noticeable over the previous Revtech R 17.5.

I saw they now have a "maxzilla" version of the killshot... Little more expensive... Whats the difference?

I've only seen this on Trinity's website. But, can't seem to find them anywhere else. I believe the "Maxilla" versions comes with the turquoise high torque rotor instead of the standard purple one.

There's too many to list. The D3.5 is probably a better motor IMHO. Very fast.

D3.5 based motors make the most torque, period. The killshot based motors make good rpm in either version. The HT with HT rotor loves low FDR numbers. They have a smaller window on gearing than the D3.5 motors but are still fast. I haven't ran any in offroad yet but onroad they are getting popular.

After a day of practice and a night of racing, I must say I do like the Killshot motor. It seems a bit slower on top compared to my Reedy Sonics(V1's) but my lap times are a whole second less on a 5 or 10 lap average. Very controllable power. We have a hill to climb on the track I race on and I run up on cars all the time with this motor. I think I might be overgeared a touch(34-69 on a B4.2) but my temps are 129 after a 8 minute main. My Sonics were 165-170! I am gonna try lower gearing and see if the top end comes back a bit, maybe doesnt want to pull taller gearing. So far I am happy with this motor and since the temps are so much lower I bet it will outlast my Reedy's.

Questions?? Revtech

I haven't really look around because I use tekin but I got two boys and was thinking the 17.5 would be good for them they have a t4.1 ft and a sc10ft we have a out door track 1/8 size triples and quad long straight what would work best

I have been running the Maxzilla D3.5 in stock buggy and truck for a while and I have been very impressed. I just picked up a Killshot HT stator to see how they compare. im putting it in my buggy and I will try it first with the purple rotor then with the Turquoise rotor. Im gonna start out with the same gearing I use with my D3.5's and go fro there. I will report back once I give it a shot.

Here is some info to help answer some of the questions posted:

-Killshots are available in both "Torque" and "RPM" versions.
The difference is the Stators: The two versions have two entirely different laminations (iron plates that the wire is wound around) which produces to entirely different power bands. Torque for increased bottom end punch (my suggestion for offroad) and RPM for increased top end (oval)

-Both "Torque" and "RPM" versions can be further tuned with the (6) different Trintiy/Revtech tuning rotors that have been offered in the past with the D3.5, D3, Revtech, etc which are all interchangeable. Our "Maxzilla" version motors come with the high strength 12.5mm rotors, and the Standard versions come equipped with the Broad Power Band 12.3mm rotors. I suggest the Maxzilla version "Torque" Killshot for all Off Road disciplines.

Available fully blueprinted and dyno-tuned with recorded values and dyno sheet printout included:

Todd, what do you recommend for 17.5 TC on road?
