tekin rx8/ and then motor choice (t8 - 2000kv, 1700, etc)would depend on how many cells you are running and what your application is. 4s lipo should be your min.

Again from there you can pick gearing.

I'm running a rx8/2000kv 4s 5000/40c 15/50

Not sure what gear the tekin conversion comes with, I just did the LOSI conversion on the same kit and used a 45 tooth Spur gear that comes with the losi kit and a 15tooth pinion. Also with the losi conversion you use the same chassis that come with the kit, also a little cheaper.

as far as motor I went with the Tekin T8 2000kv truggy motor with the RX8 ESC. I went with the 2000kv since I really do not want to go higher then 4S lipo's

Lots of trick questions there..

Id consider the tekno coversions, not just the losi first off

For motors it really depends on what voltage you intend on running.. 4s go with something in the 1900-2200 range (typically lower end of this scale is better). For 6s configs go with a 1350-1550 range typically. I have the tekin 1550kv and it's pretty much perfect on 6s lipo.

Just try to keep your overall rpm around 25k to 35k range 30k being the sweet spot. Voltge * Kv = RPM

i would go with the 2000kv if your going to run on 4s not the 2200kv for more runtime and not needing a hugh azz lipo.

Stick with Losi conversion kit intill you get the cash for the Tekno conversion.

Doesn't sound like he has the conversion kit yet..

don't spend money twice and waste He should reseach and spend 1x, the price difference is low when you are buying one or the other.

Well yea but the main reason why i said this is because he wont know if would like to Run E-Truggy . So spending that kind of money on a Tekno conversion kit wouldnt make sense to me intill he knows he likes it.

Losi conversion, Tekin RX-8, Tekin 1700kv truggy motor, 4 cell 5400mah battery, geared 16/45. I have been running e truggy for two years now and this is the setup I am liking.

I race in Florida where it is 100 degrees out in the summer and pull off the track at 160. I won a 30 minute nitro main last year (there weren't any other electric truggys) at a force race with one battery swap. It will go about 18 minutes on a large outdoor track and my batteries are two years old.
