Need some help!
I have a clicking sound coming from my transmission

First thing I would check would be idler gear teeth and any gear inside of it, look for chips or rounded off teeth. If the look find and you are running the ball diff I would open it up and assure that all of the balls are in place, maybe one could have jarred itself loose and is rolling around in there.

That is where I would start personally, and mind you I don't know if this is a known AE issue I am new to the brand, I would do this on ANY car that had a clicking noise in the tranny.

never had a tranny make that noise. The only clicking i ever got was a rock in the spur/pinion. If it is definitely in the tranny because you disconnected the motor and spun the spun by hand and hear a clicking, take it a apart and inspect everything.

Really the parts are so cheap if there is an issue with the idler or main gear I would replace both just because you already have it apart.

yeah, there are rumors of avid making a B4 RM alum chassis. It has been seen, but who knows if it will make it to production. Kurt was working on it. The same rumor says they are working on a MM alum chassis conversion for the b4. Again, just a rumor. The RM alum chassis was seen

So..

I finally bought the Jconcepts Fin turnbuckles and the new ball cups.
Got them all mounted but noticed the bended rear ball cup rubs on the gearcover.
Anyone else that has this problem?

I believe the bent ball cup is meant for the outer part of the turnbuckle to clear wheels if i'm not mistaken?

the bent one is not intended for the inside. I think they said to use a ribbed one inside.

This is correct, Paul Wynn said it him self.

ok, so still have to use 2mm shims on the bottom.

I think Paul said these were not intended to create extra room for the BB shocks. So yes.

If the intension is not to gain clearance for the BB shocks, this is massively pointless and a total waste of money.

That was in response to me commenting that I popped both inner ball cups on a flat landing with the angled cups on the inside. I intend to try them again with the cups mounted properly, but have been unable to so far due to frying my esc (plugged it in backwards, doh!:rolleyes:).

I will have a practice day this Saturday, so I will try the other set on my b44 this week end & report back. Although, others who have mounted them correctly have stated they work well.
