Default Help!! What brushless system do I get for racing??

Okay I got a sc104x4 rc truck. I've looked at lots of setups, tekin, Novak havoc
Pro sc w/xdrive and 4.5 turn. Honestly I just don't know, I need a good sensored setup for my truck, please comment with your recommendations!!

Hobbywing/Tenshock combo (550 can so will require a little modification to the motor tray) or Tekin RX8 with a Pro4 seems to be liked alot. For the SC10 get either 4000kv or 4600kv.

The tekin seems to be the best I've seen. I've seen too many novak systems fry to be able to tell anyone they're good. I've even seen the havoc pro sc with x drive go up in smoke after running a 10.5 in a 4wd buggy, kinda sad IMO, and its not the only one that seemed very premature.

Depends on budget. No object? RX8 & pro4 4600.
No need to be roar legal for a club race? RX8 & Tenshock 411 4600... save about $40 and a really strong motor. Didn't have to mod chassis to fit my old AE.
Budget and no roar rules concerns? Hobby wing or speed passion with the Tenshock.

Need to stay within roar rules because your track is super anal or you plan on running in bigger roar events? Back to the RX8 & pro4

Lipo's? Nano tech or gensace to stay low budget.
In between on price with what seems to be very good performance, smc (ordered one).
Open wallet? Reedy... but that's $100 and tests suggest the smc is performing just as well.

I'd go for tekin rx8 and pro4 motor.

4000 pro4 for smaller tracks and if your track is biggish I'd go 4600kv.

Batteries- most are good, stick with the highest c rating you can afford.

If your sc10 is saddles I'd go for Orion 5500mah, if your on a budget, hobbyking 5100 mah are great value.

Have fun........

thats ridiculous
a $98 mamba SCT 1410 system would work fine
world class racer ?
bashing ?
in between ?
A better evaluation could be made if some of the op's priorities are.

4000kv 4 pole is all you will ever need in that truck. A 4600 is just overkill for it.

OP clearly says he wants a sensored setup, so there goes any Castle combo. And compared to the competition, the MMP isn't all that great. And you are talking about the Sidewinder, which will probably explode in any 4x4, not to mention isn't sensored. Maybe actually read the OP before just throwing your opinion around?

I've tried them all including tekin and with out a doubt the Hobbywing v3 or even the sctpro is the way to go for ESC. The hobbywing Xerun 4000kv is by far the best motor option. I have no deals with anyone so this is based on my use; I've tried them all Tekins, AE's, Novaks, Tenshock, and many others... Best choice HW imo.

Save your $$$ and go with HobbyWing SCT Pro for the ESC, smoothest ESC I have ever used...It stays cool and they have very good 4-pole motors for SCT that are also sensored....This combo is under $ 200.00 with a programmer. You can use the rest of your savings trying to make that SC10 4x4 handle well !
