I hope the best for Tekno and maybe one day I will get one but please dont hate on the founders.

Well said!

Question for tekno: I noticed in the online SCT manual that on page two it lists SCT410X as the model. Is there any significance to that? Is this another model that will come out?

@powerskull
Just to follow up on what somebody else said and you mentioned not knowing about. The SCTE was a conversion from the 810.

@Tekno
"are we there yet?" O:-)

@all
I can't wait to see everybody on the track with this. I'll be starting a series with my SCTE (which hasn't sold yet locally), but finishing with the SCT410. :)

I jumped ship and sold my scte because of reliability issues. Lets face it, realisticly the car needs to be completely rebuilt with new parts bumper to bumper every 5 months or so. Each rebuild would set me back at least 100 bucks. Fast car absolutely, but it is very far from being a truely solid car.

So is there a release date yet lol def wanting to get one and run both e buggy and sct4x4, especially with those axles coming for it to bring the truck back to 1/8e spec :-)

If you're referring to the stub axles from the EB48, then no, those will not fit. The SCT410 uses all new axles specific to the truck. However, the kit will include 17mm hexes for those that are currently running either buggy rims or the SC 8th scale wheels.

wow. 17mm hexes included in the kit? sweeeeet.

Sorry, the 17mm hexes (SCT width) are a forthcoming option part. We are still testing them, but they should be out soon after the release of the truck. They will be inexpensive ($9.99).

We will also have some 17mm adapters (aluminum, 1/8th buggy width) available a couple months after release. This will enable you to have a true 1/8th buggy dimension vehicle with the weight savings of the SCT410 parts. 1/8th Lite class anyone?

I think that is an old logo file. We were thinking of calling the truck SCT410X. Not sure how that got in there. Zac, any ideas?

If we do make a 'Team' kit of some sort however, 'X' might be used since we've done that in the past with some of our option parts. But we might call it something else. We'll see.

I've seen mentioned over on the rx8 thread that there are tracks that restrict 1/8 ebugs to 2s but open motor. The wide, light, sct would be incredible for those guys!

Now that I think about it, I run on a fairly small indoor track. The 4s ebugs are less than 1 second faster than the 2s 4wd sct's. This might be an option for me as well. 3s on a pro4 3300 in a light weight ebug sounds terribly interesting!

Same experience I had. And even the amount of money to make it reliable. It nickel ed and dimed me to death with all the upgrade option parts.

+1 that was the main selling point of mine. I had to put so many upgrades on it, it was getting too expensive. Tried saying that on the scte thread and they still won't admit it needs all these things added to it.

Cain 01-05-2013 01:00 PM

lol. same on the SC10 4x4 thread with a few of the upgrades that made the most difference.

beaven 01-05-2013 01:08 PM

can't even say how much money i put into my sc10 4x4 without cringing,don't get me wrong i enjoyed it, but was happy when i sold it,even happier to get off that thread...i am ready for this truck,i am sellin my jammin as a roller and have everything i need to get this truck up and running. i have the buggy and it is so forgiving when i drive it,i am hoping the sc is similar as i am an ol'buzzard and need all the help i can get....lol:D

POWESKULL 01-05-2013 02:30 PM

I have to say I really like that the tekno 1/8 buggy and Sct share same parts and design. That's a plus for sure! I have looked into them some more and they peak my interest. They look solid. Can't wait to see what they can do but will hold off awhile. I had a sc104x4 also and it took me an hour to tighten the servo arm when it got loose
I really would love to see a Mugen sct also
