The new ones look like top hats I've heard. If you got a newer kit you might have the new ones. I'm sure there's an addendum that came with it

Yeah the new bottom piece sticks past the bottom cap the same distance as 2 o-rings, where as the old one was flush with it.

Yes I've used this one and hasn't stripped yet. If anyone came from the sc10 4x4 don't use the aluminum factory team wrench cause it will strip or flex in you. I had 2 go bad in me.

Gotta love the tekno threads, only here would you get 20 replies about a turnbuckle wrench.

On another note, Finally get to race for the first time in a month tnrw at mushroom bowl in PA, first time going there, hopefully its good weather.

Kinda dumb question...
Instead of ordering the 8x1.3 pistons, can you just seal off 2 holes in the stock pistons and get a similar result?

I'm assuming the holes are smaller than 1.3, and it wouldnt be the same as having the right piston, but I was having some nose down issues last time I ran it, and I didnt get around to ordering the pistons and I want to race it this weekend. I was just looking for a quick temporary fix.

You could, but 8x1.2 is a pretty small piston. Generally the smaller the piston hole surface area, the smaller of a tunable window you have. Small oil changes will seem much more drastic making it harder to hit that "shock zen" lol

The stock 10x1.2 stock pistons are similar to the 8x1.3 they have just a bit more pack I believe.........

I think you are saying 8x1.3 has more pack, which is right.

Cain posted this about page 376:

Pack from least to most:
- 1.3mm x 10 hole
- 1.2mm x 10 hole
- 1.4mm x 8 hole
- 1.1mm x 10 hole
- 1.3mm x 8 hole

I looks good to me. Maybe the 1.1x10 and 1.3x8 are backwards but other than that it looks good. Maybe Someone else can confirm.

So, would sealing 2 holes off the stock pistons be a quick fix for curing the nose down?
I would've preferred to use the 8x1.3 pistons but I didnt get them ordered in time to run this weekend.

If thats what it takes! I'll be at FZRC tomorrow.

The truck didnt really have that nose down effect until I went to SCRC a few weeks ago... the triple it was iffy, and then the double after the triple it was every single time, I was panic revving it to keep the front end up.

I want to say maybe it was the jump faces, but its done it a few other times at other tracks.

My 7 year old wants to start racing (keeps me in the hobby now for a lifetime!!!!)
