Tekno SCT410 Thread
My current outdoor setup on a mod/loose, big 1/8 scale, often blown-out track is the Blair 2013 DNC setup. It is quite awesome. To give you a sense of the surface, we often run super soft Enduros or M3 Caliber 2.0 tires.
I wanted to try out these legendary Fioroni pistons, so making the change to SRAMOS setup. Very very different than the Blair. But I'm also going to transition in the next few weeks to indoor, tight, high bite clay. Tires: clay barcodes. Since I hear the SRAMOS setup is even good outdoors, I thought I'd make this change now.
Both setup sheets are on the Tekno website.
As for spare parts, change the wheel hexes. Folks recommended to me: A arms, hinge braces... but fortunately, I've not needed them.
I use Air Guards, and the body is the TLR high performance (TLR8061 which has huge vents)... very rare parachute effect. Suppose different people have different experiences. Worth trying it for yourself. I think this is a good combination.
Don't quote me... but I think (from memory) that in my old Futaba 3PM, expo (to mellow out steering around center) was a negative number. Whereas for Spektrum it is the opposite and is a positive number.
Good luck.

I have the 4pl as well. Higher steering expo numbers make the car more sensitive around the center of the steering throw and negative numbers do the opposite. I run something like negative 30 expo in my buggy and negative 10-15 expo in this truck. Basically negative expo will take out some off the twitchyness of the truck's steering. You can also mess with dual rate if you feel you have too much steering throw. Some guys run like 90% dual rate on their steering which equals to 90% of available steering throw.
fyi, i received my hotlapsrc air guards and let me say they are superb quality! I haven't installed yet because I've been very busy, but when I do I'm taking pics and a lil run thru on how to install them properly with ease. Also I am adjusting my droop with hudy droop guages and blocks now. Much easier, faster, and a truer setting then measuring eyelet to eyelet for me personally, due to anything being tweaked I feel that measurement can throw you off. Stay tuned, rubber side down!!

Tekno springs. Trinity sting extreme 7200 mah 90c, 10 min mains with no worries, not sure but I think I can go about 12 min or so depending on track conditions etc. if I'm going into a 10 min main i will cross the loop and grid up or take one lap depending on lap times and grid up. Like to have as much juice as possible in those mains, but never worried about not making it. I'm using a 18t pinion with the 4300

I'm running an 16 and staying in the low 130's on motor and not breaking 100 on the esc but do have a fan. I wonder if 15 is too low and causing the motor to run higher RPM's than needed. I think the ticket on that combo is to gear higher and reduce current limiter to get good top speed and enough torque but without frying the battery.

I also only use 35% current limiter and I use approx 4300 in a 10min final
I have 6000 mah but could get away with less if needed , I have no heat issues and this is running hard with no marshells required in the final current limiter is tool that should be used by more as I bet heaps of people as still way over powering there track.
I am indoors as well on stock springs and sways and a ride height of 25mm and this truck is the best in its class by miles.
Sramos I would be keen to see you try a 15 or 16 and see if you like it better like I have coming from the 18pinon.

What is your current limiter as that will drop temps more as well
Anything over 35 to 40% is a waste with these new HD pro 4 IMO
Is this a good battery that won't puff in the Tekno using RX8/pro4 4600?

My current limiter is set at 80 lol. I will run my 8th scale temps at 180/190 motor and most of the time puts my esc at 140/160 range. I haven't had any test time so far, first run was in a heat race and only had time to make a few chassis changes. Can't wait to get it dialed, my fast laps was only a sec off my nitro buggy time.
