Running Losi pinions with mine. Perfectly quit here. Never had an issue at all with my drivetrain.

Im going to be in San Diego and will be visiting with Danny and the guys while there Im sure. If anyone needs anything let me know. If I can take care of it or ask something in person for you I would be happy to do it.

SRAMOS: what, if any, drag brake do you run? If you do run any, do you ever change it based on different tracks/conditions??
Thanks!

Mine is also very quite. Even when I was first testing the truck with the brand new spur, it was still quite. It might be because I use Novak pinions.

Sounds like pinions and gear mesh may be the main culprit for the noise? I have only run Tekno pinions and it has been noisy since I got it. Putting o-rings in the diff couplers made it noticeably quieter but it is still loud when putting down power.

I'll get some Losi pinions to try out next week.

First post tells me I should gear between 15-17 for my Pro4 4000Kv on my medium track. Anyone played around with gearing on the lower end and running some mid-late range boost?

Just to double check is TKR5571A is the part number for the stock width wheel hexes? About to order them.

Off the first page of this thread.

ALUMINUM HEXES
Right now the only hexes that are a no mod fit are the Tekno hexes. There are two versions, PN: TKR1654X, originally designed for the Slash and SC104x4, and PN: TKR5571A. TKR1654X will however increase your track width by 1mm per side. If you are running SCTE wheels your truck will still be ROAR legal width with the wider hexes. If you are running SC10 4X4 wheels you may be over the ROAR maximum with the wider hexes, there are some slight differences between manufactures.
NOTE: Tekno's hex kit comes with 8 shims that are designed to go between the drive pin and the bearing. They are there to take up any slop due to manufacturing tolerances. They may or may not be needed. It is normal for one wheel to need one or two shims and another to need zero. Install the hex without any shims and install the wheel as if you were going to run the car. If there is excessive play, add one shim and retest. The goal is to have just a tick of free play, you do not want it so tight that it binds up.

You want the big holes facing up so when you land off a jump the oil rushes into those holes, thus pushing the o-ring against the shock bore.
