Default What motor?

Thanks for posting that Tekno. I can stop refreshing your page twice day now

Since we don't have a ton to talk about yet.....

For the past couple months I've been running a Tekno converted Mugen MBX-6 with a 2100Kv motor and a 70C/6500mah 4s battery indoors and outdoors. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. The instant power has just been a blast.

Now that I have the 410 coming I was going to put the 5.5 550 from my SC10 4x4 in it but don't think I'll be satisfied. A Trinity 4800Kv 4-pole seems to be the logical choice but I'm really really tempted to get the 7200Kv . Any thoughts?

We'll post up our new setup sheet (blank, editable, and savable), as well as a couple that are filled out for high bite clay and for outdoor conditions. They are basically the same except for minor changes on tires and droop.

Anyone wondering if we'll have enough trucks in the first batch, don't worry. However, the first production batch will be broken into a few shipments. The first couple shipments are sold through, but the time between shipments should only be a week or so, not months. We can't answer any questions about who is guaranteed in the first shipment, etc. We simply don't know and don't want to tell anyone the wrong info. We'll be sending them out to our dealers and distributors as soon as we receive them.

We hope everyone has a great holiday and a happy new year!
Any word on some set- up sheets not trying to be a bother but trying to figure out how much other tuner items We will need that does not come with the kit such as pistons, springs, and sway bars. Thanks

We're really trying to have the kit be set up well out of the box. We've been dialing in the truck so when it's released you won't have to buy any other tuning parts. So as long as you have the tires, wheels, and body of your liking you should be good to go.

Sounds great thanks for the info I know it will be close because my home track TRCR in Tacoma WA has similar clay dirt to what you guys are testing on in San Diego

Will it come with some swaybars already?

Or, swaybar kits like how AEs FT SC10 4x4 does?

I would stay in the 4600-5200kv range. I'm sure revo will come in soon and say the 7200 is the best thing since sliced bread, but from experience 5200 tenshock puts enough strain on 2s setups. If you can get away with it at your local track a 3200-3400 on 3s 4000 mah would be an even better setup.

I'm sure I'll end up with the 4800 and maybe try the 7200 down the road. The places I race 4x4 is limited to 2s or at least that is what I'll be using.

Comes with sway bars.

And as Matt A said, we have been putting a lot of time dialing this kit in with the best set-ups we can find. We have around 8 kits running almost every day proving different set-ups, so you can all feel confident that this truck will come with the most dialed one right out of the box.

I have a brand new reedy 550 5.0, does anyone know if this will run good with a rx8? Will i have any heating issues or goofy issues? Mike Reedy was a pioneer of electric rc motors as tuning thats why alot of guys were fast back in the day!

Regarding motor electronics...experiences below were in an SCTE.

I started with a Tekin Pro4 4600 and RX8 and loved it.
I then started racing with the 8th scales and wanted a little more.
I switched to the TenShock SC411 5200 and the HobbyWing SCT Pro...but I didn't like it as it had too much lag in the throttle response and seemed too "soft".
I've since migrated to an RX8 with the TenShock SC411 5200 and love it.
The other combo that my wife uses now (and works well, but doesn't have quite the top end I like) is the HobbyWing SCT Pro and a Pro4 4000.

For this SCT410, I'm expecting Tekin to have the Pro4 HD out soon, and will probably give that a try in place of the TenShock if they have appropriately high kv's, as I really like Tekin as a company and the support they've given.

Pro4 3300kv on 3s works really well.
