So what's a good efficient motor for this, I have the HW SCT-Pro esc and at the moment a Monster Horsepower Short Course 4.5 turn (which I think will be a hot running amp hog)

Sounds good Tim. The HB springs are 4.2 so you should be fine. Hopefully you can get the ride height down where you need it. I'm packing right now to head out tomorrow with the same setup except I went to 7/5/3 diff oils. I also got some losi red fronts which are 4.1 to try and losi silver rears which are 2.8
I should have the setup pretty nailed this weekend.

Try the 4000kv SC PRO combo, unless you have a VERY large track. On a 115 foot straight a 12 pinion is the largest you should run in my opinion, the 4000kv set up is pleanty with a 15 pinion. The front wheels balloon like crazy going down the front straight.

My 4000kv hobbywing feels pretty weak @ 16t pinion. Can't make the double double section at my track. Figure an 18t pinion should fix that till i can get some new smc's.
Btw i ran it on a loose 8th scale outdoor track and i can say the stock setup works VERY well, i'd say it's about 95% dialed for my tastes.

I've been running the AE Silver fronts for almost as long as I've had the 410.
What I did to ensure proper ride height was to also use AE spring perch. It fits loosely on the Tekno rod end, but I have had no problems with it.

I'm running the HW SCT PRO and HW 4000kv combo on a mid sized outdoor track and find it has plenty of power. Running the 16 tooth pinion with the punch turned all the way down it still has enough bottom end to break the wheels loose at any time. The track is hard packed with a good bit of dust on top so I tried a 17t pinion to try and calm down the low end and it helped a bit.

Unless you have a high traction surface to run on I doubt any more power is going to be your friend.

I went to Kyosho yellow rear springs, which are 2.95 IIRC.

which ones, the 3.9's or the 4.3s?

Running the 3.9's here, feels good.

Well I was hit with the dreaded shock leak! Only one tiny leak up front on left shock. Strange because I know I built them perfect.

gives me an excuse to pull my RX8 and SC4X out so I can replace the case on it and try a Hacker 5.5 4 pole I have.

The original screws are 3mm and 4/40`s` are smaller, why not go with 4mm screws when it strips out?

If by 3.9 = F and 4.3 = R, then 3.9. I am running what I believe to be Agama Silver Rs on the R. If there are two AE Silver Fs, at those two ratings, I honestly don't know, other than to say they would be what comes stock with the 8.2 series buggies.

AE has two "silvers", most likely you are using the 8.2 silvers, which are 4.3's from what they say. The other silvers, old school ones are 3.9's. That is what I am using here.
