I'm sitting at the stock setup with all gold bar codes and it has been great for our large Denver clay indoor track(Unser). I ran the truck this Saturday at the other indoor clay track (MHOR) and noticed some changes are needed to get more steering off power. The track surface is a very hard clay, almost emory board like when the track dries out a bit. It will wear through a set of gold barcodes very quickly - 5 or 6 6 minute runs. Gold barcodes are the tire of choice for nearly every class.

For the most part, I was pushing going off power into the first turn then I was really having to slow down to make the first and 2nd sharp turn after the straightaway.

I've never really messed with dif oils, but would moving to 5/5/2 help from the 7/5/3 included with the kit? I also noticed that I'm getting a lot of front tire wear - maybe I should increase the center and run 5/7/2?

I have attached a picture of the current layout of the track, and here is a video of the run from Saturday night (white truck). Let me know what you guys think.

For reference, my fast lap was a 14.1 while the yellow and red SC104x4 truck turned some 13.6's or so.

For reference in addition to the post above, in the video:
The all green in 1st at the start is an SCTE 1.0 with the battery tray backwards, but otherwise stock.
The blueish truck starting 3rd is an SCT410 with a much different setup than the rest of us.
The all yellow truck is my poor driving running way too much motor and needing more body venting or the air guards. Hubs forward, rear shocks in on tower, lots of droop limiting. I can't wait to finalize my setup so I can just get used to how the truck drives again.
The black/flame and silver/black are both SCTE's with the various TLR upgrades.
Not sure on the orange or other green truck off the top of my head.

5/7/2 sounds good.

Also try raising the roll center in front (lower on tower and shorten the link).

Try minimum front kick up (insert all the way up in the front inner hinge pin brace).

Coming from 2 years of being "The" Sc10 4x4 guy around here... This is a fantastic thing for me. =D =D

I'm well accustomed to gobs of steering. It's these three diffs that scare the poo out of me.
