Default What electric system to choose for SCTE

I just picked up a SCTE with Castle ESC and 3800kv. I had castle in last year SCTE but it wasnt enough power for me. I also have RX8 with 4600kv, which I believe is the best system for SCTE. I been hearing of other motors to try and that was more reliable than Tekin setup. Any of you guys have experience with these?

Trinity Revtech 3800kv Fast

Trinity Revtech 3800kv

Or can anyone recommend a good setup? I also was looking at the viper copper head system but it seems cheap(price wise) and didnt want to take the chance.

Man I wish I payed attention. I hear SC is more fun outdoors than indoors but I was doing other things when electric was running. I picked up another SC so I can get some outdoor fun before the nitro season is over.

Wait, Didnt lipo Larry come in first?

What is it about the SCTE that seems to bring a certain type of person to this forum? There have been 10 threads with posts this month, with "SCTE" in the title of the thread. Four of them (including this thread) have been about electronics for said SCTE.

That being said, for a motor I would go with ether the Team Epic 4XS 4800kv, or the Tekin Pro4 4600kv. For the ESC my first choice would be The Orion Vorex R10 Pro 2s/3s. It has the highest current rating for a 1/10th scale size ESC. Next would be the Tekin RX8. The RX8 is a great ESC. I really like Tekin, and run nothing but their stuff, but if (and that is a huge if because I hate 4wd SC) I had a 4wd SC I would not want to run the RX8. It would be nice to have the piece of mind because the RX8 is designed for 1/8th scale, but it is just way to large. I am really surprised that Tekin has not come out with an ESC that is optimized for the higher current demands of a 4 pole motor run on 2s, and a footprint somewhere between an RS Pro and an RX8. Tekin are you listening?

Dude what the hell is your issue forum police man? Every time I open up a thread there is you bitching at somebody. Are you on your period? This is a very popular model so deal with it. Not everyone out there know's how this forum works, so cut these guys some damn slack, and keep your I'm better than everyone else attitude to your self.

I couldn't agree more. The guy is obviously intelligent and experienced, but I am more than done reading his replies. I guess if you want to correct others, then go for it. But you don't have to bash them when doing it. I am actually surprised the Mods have let him get away with his degrading comments.

Both my daughter and I have SCTEs (among many other cars/trucks). I also happen to run the Tekin RX8/4600 combo in the truck. I assume that we are both now considered to be part of that "certain type of person" club?

"Tekin are you listening?" Sorry buddy, I am pretty sure Tekin knows exactly what they're doing.

I been racing for about 6 years. I ran a SCTE last year RTR but changed the motor to 3800kv castle. I decided to get another one for this winter and looking for options on ESC and Motors. Like I first mentioned, I have a RX8 w/ 4600kv and Castle w/ 3800kv(back up).

The main purpose I started the thread was cause I was looking for more info on that trinity line of motors or a good setup other than 4600kv(which seem to be the best to me).

Pballer-I was just messing with you. Thinking about racing SC next weekend at the hut. I probably have more questions at the track.

As for the the douche that made the a**comment. You could have left the first paragraph out and kept the second. Thanks for you opinion.

The Rx8 fits just fine inside all of most common 4wd Sc's that are on the market today. It's "size" is not a issue in the class and has proven to be a winner taking wins all over the world. The combination of the Rx8 and Pro 4 motor is used by factory drivers from nearly every team such as TLR, Team Durango, MIP and AE. There are other mfg's offering much larger "units" than the Rx8 for the application

There are great choices to be had by many companies.

Hahah yeah I saw all thread replies by this guy. If you cannot be constructive and help just don't type it up R. Shackleford.... Don't bring personal issues to a public forum....

As to the op, I have a rango truck with the 4600/rx8 combo which works very well on cooler days and a scte with a 3300 kv geared to the moon with right now a hw120A and soon to be sct pro esc. The hw does get warm fast but the motors cool as hell and also it helps my scte is 0.3 lb lighter than my rango (with dual shortys ~ 6.2 lbs).
