B44.2 Build & Tuning FAQ with Links at bottom of this 1st post

July 15th 2014 - Link to Official Team Associated B44.3 FT Kit

The RC10B44 is a proven winning platform with two I.F.M.A.R. World Championships and four R.O.A.R. National titles under its belt!

The B44.2 Factory Team kit takes the next step in drawing out every opportunity to maximize the 4WD buggy's potential.

The big news on the B44.2 is the new Factory Team 12mm 'Big Bore' hard-anodized shocks. The shocks feature threaded collars, machined aluminum shock caps with bleed screws, and are completed with TiN "Gold" 3mm shock shafts.

The end result is a 12mm shock that delivers a plush and compliant ride that keeps the B44.2's tires planted on the ground.

The B44.2 also received an updated 2.5mm carbon-fiber chassis that is 8mm longer and 3mm narrower than the previous model. This not only improves stability and overall handling of the B44.2 but also accommodates the new LiPo quick-change battery mounting system, and VTS multiplate slipper assembly.

The engineers in Area 51 have once again evolved the B44 to keep it a winner, while everyone else is just trying to keep up. If you're ready to step up your 4WD program, the B44.2 is ready for you!

Factory Team 12mm 'Big Bore' hard anodized aluminum threaded shocks with TiN "Gold" 3mm shock shafts

· Updated 2.5mm carbon-fiber chassis +8mm optimized for LiPo saddle packs

· VTS slipper (variable torque, multi-plate slipper with 3 drive surfaces) assembly featuring a high-rate spring

· Composite battery trays allow for battery position adjustment with integrated spacers and quick-change battery straps

· Updated 3.5mm front shock tower and 3.0mm rear shock tower designed specifically for the new 12mm shocks

· Factory Team 12mm aluminum rear clamping hexes and rear hex wheels

· Updated front top deck for increased rigidity featuring locking antenna mount

· Factory Team 7075-T6 blue aluminum 0° rear hubs with oversized outer bearing

· Updated front suspension arm for increased durability

· Blue aluminum cam-type motor mount for easier and more secure gear mesh adjustments

· JConcepts Finnisher +8mm body (clear) and Factory Team protective chassis tape included

Great update. The 12mm hex is just for the rear end?

the front end already uses a hex

pink_sleeve 09-24-2012 03:20 PM

Aluminum turnbuckles?

30Tooth 09-24-2012 03:22 PM

Yes,I have a B44 but the front isn't 12mm hex that's why I asked if that changed.

Jmuck69 09-24-2012 03:28 PM

Can't you use the B4.1 front hexes on the front?

big chris 09-24-2012 03:30 PM

It looks as if the front is an aluminum hub just not clamping. It's held in by a pin.

mxracer458 09-24-2012 03:32 PM

Plastic battery tray and hold downs?at least leave the hold down carbon

Jmuck69 09-24-2012 03:34 PM

Buy a marked down B44.1, get the big bores and updated shock towers and throw on an AVID slipper system and your done.

Matt Trimmings 09-24-2012 03:35 PM

Front hub doesnt look to have changed. you cant use the b4 hexes on the front because the 4wd wheels arent 12mm hex.

gotta be a error, those are the standard FT Titanium Turnbuckles.

Except you still wouldn't have the longer chassis, and all the stuff that goes with that.

I agree. I would bet money that has to be a typo! Especially since the photo appears to be the standard titanium turnbuckle.

nv529 09-24-2012 03:52 PM

No gear diffs?

Where is that stated? I don't see why they would extend the chassis AGAIN.

Watched real close, same 10mm the B44 had.Matt Trimmings is right,I just wanted to use 12mm hexes allround.

Maybe all these years the wrong description was "Blue FT turnbuckles" :D

Eli 09-24-2012 04:14 PM

Is this the "Big thing" that was talked about on their facebook page?

Jumpinj 09-24-2012 04:18 PM

I am guessing so....

30Tooth 09-24-2012 04:20 PM

Nope, the big thing is that a B4.2 with VTS, BB and wheel hexes is next :)

CT RACER 09-24-2012 04:29 PM

Oh boy it looks like a rtr with that plastic crap! wow Big Bores included also who cares Screw it looks retarted with the changes I would be ashamed at my self if I bought that Lol! Sticking with my brand new 44 that looks like that with out the plastic crap!

CT RACER 09-24-2012 04:34 PM

I personally don't think this is it. This is just another update. This is not Area 51 work.

Jumpinj 09-24-2012 04:37 PM

It does seem like a lot of hype for a not so updated car...

No Im almost positive the pros are not gonna run that battery tray and gear cover everything else yes! I'm not Ill just keep getting them 44.1's till I can no longer can! And no I don't want it! I'm keeping my big bore conversion with my associated bb springs! I like it better than the big bores! Personally!

associated cars didn't need the big bores. I'm not going to say their shocks couldn't have used improvement but they did great without them.

Wheel and fire bad.

nv529 09-24-2012 05:13 PM

I want, part number and ETA please! I need a new wheeler before the first weekend of November. Get on it AE!

seth556 09-24-2012 05:21 PM

What's wrong with a spur guard and battery hold downs? You'd rather screw multiple nuts down each time you want to change the battery rather than flick two plastic things around?

nv529 09-24-2012 05:22 PM

07Forester 09-24-2012 06:06 PM

Looks like i'll have a week old b44.1 for sale

littlevette 09-24-2012 06:08 PM

so what's the deal with this "ad"? i didn't see anything on associated's site or anywhere else on a "b44.2". to me it seems like a waste to upgrade this buggy like that.
