I'm keeping my big bore conversion with my associated bb springs! I like it better than the big bores! Personally!

associated cars didn't need the big bores. I'm not going to say their shocks couldn't have used improvement but they did great without them.

I want, part number and ETA please! I need a new wheeler before the first weekend of November. Get on it AE!

What's wrong with a spur guard and battery hold downs? You'd rather screw multiple nuts down each time you want to change the battery rather than flick two plastic things around?

Looks like i'll have a week old b44.1 for sale

littlevette 09-24-2012 06:08 PM

so what's the deal with this "ad"? i didn't see anything on associated's site or anywhere else on a "b44.2". to me it seems like a waste to upgrade this buggy like that.

Why sell it? Just upgrade it. Mine hasn't even been on a track. I'm just gonna upgrade

MOmo 09-24-2012 06:11 PM

It would figure that a 44.2 comes out just as I finish my 44.1!!!!:flaming:

No worries. honestly, IMO the BB is take it or leave it, the Avid Slipper, same, battery holder, eh. I'll keep my 44.1

See people, they didn't have to re-write the book, just an update. For all those who want a new car, Subtle updates are all that's needed!

I see no source for info or any other info posted on the web. Seems pretty bogus at this point.

Good luck with that...Although it looks very similar there are lots of little subtle changes that require a lot of parts.

For example notice that the spur gear cover is longer to accommodate the VTS slipper and the battery tray no has a spacer in it so it no longer in a net fit on the battery.

Therefore the chassis must be longer and as a result you will probably need new center CVA's, maybe a top deck? The rear one looks different in the photo, front and rear shock towers and oh yeah, big bores! That doesn't sound like a cheap upgrade!

More info:

The RC10B44 is a proven winning platform with two I.F.M.A.R. World Championships and four R.O.A.R. National titles under its belt!

The B44.2 Factory Team kit takes the next step in drawing out every opportunity to maximize the 4WD buggy's potential.

The big news on the B44.2 is the new Factory Team 12mm 'Big Bore' hard-anodized shocks. The shocks feature threaded collars, machined aluminum shock caps with bleed screws, and are completed with TiN "Gold" 3mm shock shafts.

The end result is a 12mm shock that delivers a plush and compliant ride that keeps the B44.2's tires planted on the ground.

The B44.2 also received an updated 2.5mm carbon-fiber chassis that is 8mm longer and 3mm narrower than the previous model. This not only improves stability and overall handling of the B44.2 but also accommodates the new LiPo quick-change battery mounting system, and VTS multiplate slipper assembly.

The engineers in Area 51 have once again evolved the B44 to keep it a winner, while everyone else is just trying to keep up. If you're ready to step up your 4WD program, the B44.2 is ready for you!
