Default TEKIN RS - Help

Hi,
I just soldered on my tekin rs and all the solder post and wire are like 5mm apart and I'm just wondering if I can wrap electrical tape over them just to make sure none of them short? Also I was just wondering, if I bought one of those Novak glitch busters would I still need to run the capictor on the battery leads? I'm scared the one at the moment will fall of and I will fry my esc
Thanks

The capacitor on the ESC is not the same as the glitch buster that plugs into the receiver. Take a minute and solder the capacitor where it goes.

If you're concerned about it failing, replace it with a new one.

DO NOT wrap them with electrical tape. The posts help dissipate heat.

The solder posts also act as a heat sink for the ESC. Just make sure your soldering job is tidy and you won't have any issues. The capacitor is also required for the ESC to operate. Use a small piece of servo tape to attach the capacitor to the top of the ESC so it doesn't go anywhere. The glitch buster capacitor is not the same thing.

It may or may not have damaged it, but either way it will void the warranty. Tekin FAQ #15.

Double sided tape or shoe goo the cap to the esc. I've never lost one. It's pretty simple to get the thing secure so that it's not an issue.

You are obsessing over something that is a non-issue. Put the cap on there per the instructions and go race. Nothing will replace the cap on the ESC. It must be there and it will not fall off unless you just cannot solder correctly. Then you'll have other problems anyway.

A BEC is completely irrelevant here and has nothing to do with that cap. We supply that cap and it has to go on, no exceptions. It's job is to absorb ripple current between the ESC and battery as there are massive voltage spikes while you are driving. The cap is there to flatten them out so the ESC doesn't get slammed with these voltage spikes.

Default RS esc ?

Iv just compleated the insallment of a RS 10.5 combo in my Losi xxx scb. I set reverse power to 35% & forward to 100%. After the first test I had to reverse the motor, so now it drives in the right direction but at has 100% power in reverse & 35% in forward. Iv checked that my wires are correct A to A, B to B & C to C. So what have I done wrong ?

You shouldn't have to reverse the motor, are you sure you radio isn't set to reverse? I believe its called rev. servo on airtronics. I would try recalibrating as well.

Switch a wire, so try A to A, B to C, and C to B
