Kyosho Ultima RB6 & RB6.6 Car Thread

Had the chance to drive this buggy in laydown form on medium bite and high bite only 1 time each surface. I'm already faster than 5 months tuning 2 Xray buggies. Question: need to know track width to run AE offset wheels. I have other buggies that all have AE offset and a bunch of glued tires. Purchased some jconcepts bullet wheels that list they are compatible with rb6, b6 and Xray xb2. Now - I know that to Run associated offset wheels on an Xray you need a plus 3mm hex each side. How is it JC can list these bullet wheels are b6, Xray and rb6 compatible. Thats a big difference in track width. The fact Xray is listed tells me either Xray compatiblity is an error, or worse they are all not correct offset.
Anyone know how to run AE wheels and if there are any hexes one needs to purchase? Tires are expensive and I'd like to share between all buggies. Thx !

AE & KYO are the same offset.
EDIT: I've measured a bunch of wheels I have. Let me dig out my notes later and you can measure your AE wheels and see.
Any that I have purchased say B5 or RB6.

I was running 2deg rear toe in.. So if lacking a little drive change back to RF B - out / B - out.
Let me know what you think!

I see that Kyosho offers diff grease in various thicknesses. Anybody use them? What is the difference with equivalent diff oil?

I had picked up some RB6 buggies this summer hoping to run Stock and Mod buggy but plans changed. Looking to run only a Mod Buggy this winter. Is there a good base setup, or is it best to start with the kit and tune from there? Also any MUST do mods such as 3 gear for midmotor, sidweways battery, etc? The buggy already has the adjustable rear hingepin holders, Carbon Front Shock tower, Aluminum Steering rack and Rear V2 0 Degree Hubs. Just looking to see if there is anything else I should do before hitting the track.

2canSAM, what kind of track will you be running on?

Hopefully Jason Dias has an OCRC setup. He has some older rb6 ones up on the wall there. Need an updated laydown one.
He rips. That should do well. Nothing on his website but he comes on here occasionally

if I just want to run my current 4 gear RB6 with the rb6.6 chassis so I can run the battery across the width, what parts do I need beside the chassis? And anyone find where to buy the chassis in the US other than Retail Kyosho? thanks

um731 & um732. I'm not sure if you'll need the new body since you're not going with the laydown gearbox. I've only seen the chassis direct through them so far but if you find their eBay store it's a few bucks cheaper than on their website
anybody have a real good 3 gear laydown set up for low to med bite clay I'm running the 3 gear stand up and the buggy is awesome but everybody is saying the laydown is the way to go and a guy with a b6d had a 3 gear ld on our track its really good but had a shit ton of weight in it any help appreciated

anyone from Kyosho on the site that might have some insight on when the rb6.6 chassis will be shipping? (want to upgrade my rb6) showing as back ordered with a tbd date. Would prefer to support my local shop and get one there as opposed to online Thanks
Help losing weight! I'm @ 1590 with a lowpro servo, HW StockSpec, and brass hanger. Tried a 150 gram slim shorty and buggy is blazing fast but not very stable. What are the best ways to lose weight fast without taking the buggy apart with titanium screws? Bought titanium turnbuckles (about 10 grams,) . Any suggestions on the most cost effective way to drop some weight?
