It feels like a harder shell version of electrical tape. Very durable... im not sure id call it slippery... kind of like very thin rubbery tape.

I can't see that chassis being dented will affect it much. It could easily just be a hole there. I guess they didn't get to test it as much as some of us have! lol. And by test I mean, slap the chassis a lot on the ground! I still am loving the car.

Think I have to cancel that though. This is half as thick as the one you had mentioned capt...

.got the 51 its 0.5 mm thick....
oh... the one you linked to is 50.. which is 1/4mm. And IMO, 4" is just perfect. The RB6 chassis is 3.5" wide. The 4" roll just goes over the edge onto the side pods... perfect. Either way, its a crap load better than buying a chassis protector.

Default Chassis

Well now that I see this wasn't isolated to my car I'll post these images. This is the first day driving the car at West Coast R/C raceway (nice clay track right). I went over the car before my main and all was good. I TQ'd and got second, worst thing that happen to me in the main was I cased the triple and cross-over in 17.5 non-timing buggy. When I got off the track I had seen the chassis had dented and I almost cried
I honestly can't say enough good things about the car, and I'm glad that not everyone's car is doing this. So to me it looks like there was just a bad batch and hopefully Kyosho will take care of it. My concern was mostly that this could potentially impact your gearbox and cause your diff gear to grind due to the tolerances being so incredibly tight. This picture was taken with less then 30 minutes on the car.

And seriously guys a 450$ buggy should not do this without some sort of disclaimer, chassis protector or not. The chassis is like a work of art, how could one anticipate this happening?

Love everything about the car other then this issue. And like an earlier poster mentioned they didn't want bad things to be said about this car because they want people to buy it. I say don't buy it because it's the best thing out there and how else will I have some sort of advantage over you

I would call Kyosho America asap. My 22 and DEX210 never had issues like that with the chassis. I can't believe I just put in a "semi" plug for them. People with this issue need to stick with the car and Kyosho. It is well worth it and I trust they will resolve it.

Pics are up. Proline bulldog for the DEX410. I had this body cut for the rango, with some custom cutting you could make it perfect. The back flares a little bit so just crease, and bent the sides in.

I have 7 or more plastic sets and one set of carbon composite of rr2/rf2s. PM me if you need some. I also have rr/rf, but seem everyone is running rr2/ff2s.

I dont think its an issue of bad batch or good batch... I would bet good money all our chassis are identical. Some of us just havn't had that type of hit on the back end to make it dent yet. Given enough time, I bet they all do this.

At first, I laughed, but now I find myself wanting a $450 2WD buggy.

Decisions, decisions...

Its only money they print more everyday. Compared to other hobbies RC is affordable, even with dropping 450 on a kit.

i just got off the phone with Derrick @ Kyosho,
they are looking into it and said warranty is 90 days but in this case they will extend, and possible when R&D revises we can get the new revised chassis
at 50% off, better than than nothing. (about what my rear hubs cost).
now just call here in for U.S. (949)454-8854 to help roll this situation along a little faster
anyway Derrick totally aware and helpful and very kind.
Thankyou.
