Exclamation Which connector on Li-Po

I own a savage flux hp and i recently put tamiya plugs onto it and my batteries because, I had no other plug, anyway after about 5min the connectors literally were bubling from the heat and they got fused together. My batteries are each 5300mah 2S 7.4v 30C so i need a connector that can handle that situation. anything will help, Thanks

Ec5, xt-60, deans

Pick one. They'll all work

Deans or Traxxas plugs. As you found out, the Tamiya plugs just can't handle it.

I like the Traxxas, to me they are easier to solder and the connection is more protected than with deans.

Deans plugs have been around a long, long time. It's what I use to use back in the day, and started using again when I got back in to the hobby last year.

Another vote for deans, and not because I argue they are the best or not, but the simple fact that it is the MOST commonly used plug out there by FAR and if you need to borrow someones battery or esc for a night in case something happens, chances are 98% of the people at a track will only have deans...

hey thanks guys I think ill go with the Traxxas plugs because I do believe they're easier to handle and such. Im new to this site so its nice to see how good it actually works, also is there a certain type of solder that should be used or will any solder work fine?

I am sure you will like the Traxxas, one thing that always helps though is to have an adapter for Deans since they are so popular. I have one that will let me use a Deans battery on my Traxxas ESC plug (Female Traxxas to Male Deans) and one that will let others use my batteries on their Deans ESC plugs (Female Deans to Male Traxxas).
