I bought a used slash that the guy said he had put 10k associated diff oil in the rear diff. It had some noise coming from the rear diff so I took the casing off and just reseated the bearing and pinion and the noise went away. There was grease on the gears on the outside. Are you supposed to fill the whole tranny case or just the diff casing? I'm assuming just the diff case, but just making sure

Yea just the diff cup

Fluid in the cup but you will need grease on the ring gear. Sounds like its correct.
