My flysky had a spring in the wheel snap after i used it for about a month. If anything get a cheap used radio. You can get something used that is decent for hundred bucks or so.

Honestly why not just get a RTR B4.1. They are a good deal at 250. You can upgrade as you go.

+1 on this. Don't let everyone convince you the RTR version of the B4.1 is garbage compared to anything else. If you're new to the hobby or just looking to keep it low budget, you'll still have a ton of fun with this kit, won't really be any slower than other stock or beginner drivers, and can upgrade parts and electronics as you progress and/or have the budget for it.

I would have gotten the rtr but I got a good deal on the worlds car

Battery question. Would a venom 2s 20c 5000mah be ok to run with a ready 8.5? Or would the motor destroy that battery ?

Of the cheap batteries, I had great luck with the Gensace 40c 5000s. Right around $30 and performed exceptionally well. I'm running a Reedy Sonic 8.5t right now and I'm not sure I like it much. Power comes on very smooth which is great but it never seems to have the power I want throughout the RPM range. I have a little more tinkering I want to do with boost but I liked the Tekin better at this point. Not sure what I'm going to try next.

I'd agree!

Check out the thread on them. Some early reviews have come back saying they are just as good as the big brands. Although being the owner I'm biased!

I am just getting back into RC racing as well. Here is what I purchased this last month.

RC10B4.1 Worlds $270 (LHS)
Airtronics MX-3 2.4 radio $100 (Tower Hobbies)
Novak Clubman ESC/17.5 sensored combo w/ Glitch Buster $110 (Ebay)
RC9394 2S 30C 5000mAh Lipo $40 x 3 (HKS Hobbies)
IMax B6 Lipo charger $30 (Ebay)
Savox 1257 servo $68 (Ebay)
Proline wheels (set of 4) x2 $26 (Tower Hobbies)

Total $729.50

I expect once I get used to running on the track and get the car dialed in, I'll be able to keep up in our LHS stock class.
