I only consider it a "real" track if they have an AMB system or house loaners if its a different system. And must be maintained regularly. We get layout changes every 3 months or less here.

i have a question for the guys that are good at tuning, i use to have 5 limiters in my shocks a week or so ago and i drove my truck and it felt good but i would have to nogo so hard into a big sweeper so i wouldnt three wheel and get all tippy lol. i took out 2 making me have just three limiters in there and it allowed my truck to roll and i was told give me better outside traction, well my question is how wouldi know if i have too much roll? im able to go harder into the sweeper now and my truck feels good but as it comes to an angle where it is facing the driver stand coming out of the sweeper i can actually see how much it is rolling and im like wow is that too much or just leave it alone since the truck is feeling good? now im doing fast laps consisstently but i just need more wheel time cause it is money.....well i think. the fast guys are doing like 17.5ish and im doing 17.9-18.2 ish so is it the truck or i may need to drive better lines or harder in certain spots or what but i wnt to get in that ball park with em

Whew, just got done cutting out my new race lid and boy will I do it pre paint next time. I don't know why I didn't before this time, but man was it nerve racking getting it all fitted!!! I'll post up a new set of pictures once its mounted and stickered up!

Oh and we have an awesome indoor track here in San Diego. SDRC and a nice outdoor one too just up the road from me. WCRC and OCRC are only 1.5 hours north of me as well. Brian Kinwald and the rest of the AE team was actually here for our first big race series last weekend. Brian took the win in Mod SC, 2nd in 4x4 SC and I think 3rd in Mod buggy.

Is anyone using a plug/connector between the speed controller and motor? I was just looking if anyone made a 3 pole connector and didn't see any. I would like to have a way to unplug the motor from the speedo wires and would like to know what you would use/recommend.

Okay thanks. Just making sure there wasn't a 3 pole plug available that could be used.

Gamedog, if the truck is faster, don't worry about what it looks like going around the corner. Removing the limiters will allow the chassis to lean more, just like you saw. Also, it's usually a good idea to take a majority of the track into consideration when making changes so you don't screw up how the truck handles on 80% of the track to get it dialed in on 20%. Removing the limiters up front should also allow more weight transfer to the back while you are accelerating out of corners, planting the rear end more and/or taking away steering on power. It shouldn't lawn dart so bad, either, if that's a concern. From what I've seen, that difference isn't too significant.

Duratrax Power Poles are modular, so you can attach as many as you want with lots of different configurations. They are also quite efficient, but more bulky than the bullet plugs.

I never use any grease or lube. The gear mesh is so tight that grease or lube will cause more resistance and put more pressure on the teeth of the idler gear. You will notice grease compacting in-between the teeth of the gears and it will wear them down even faster. The weak link of the tranny is the idler gear. For $2 I replace it every other diff rebuild. But I will inspect it every time and if it shows wear ill replace it. Its a cheap wear item you should keep on hand.

Its what feels best for you. What I like may not be good for you. If you going faster and have more confidence with how it is, then drive it.

Nice lid! I always love new bodies. I dislike painting and cutting them out though.
