I've been building the shocks. Are those nuts by themselves on the parts tree extras?

Initially I used them the first time and realised I had some metal ones left over so I swapped them, but can't find a use for these plastic ones.

just the excess burs that will remain when removed from the tree.

I file down the excess bur with a fine paper to smoothen the part off the tree.
That is the gate which fills the mold. Look close and you will see that it is not on the edge but on the top, so you can snip it off and use an xacto to clean it up. Don;t sand the outer edge of the piston.

It's the same parts tree for the SCT410, so yes they are just unused with the EB-48.

Your initial statement is misinformation, what "steel" are you referring to, most pins are made of O1 or similar with has a % elongation at fracture of 5-6% whereas the most brittle cold worked Ti alloy (6/4) is over 10%. I am a metallurgical engineer that has been designing with Ti and ferrous alloys for many years, Ti is not a material for a hinge pin, it is soft and ductile, that is why it is used on applications like connecting rods and bike frames.

Thanks, just another thing I wasn't expecting. The metal version goes well with the shock tools from APE, and match the picture when you look close enough.

What shock pistons do you recommend as replacements for TKR6050 – Shock Pistons (CNC, conical, 10×1.1)?

Well, I finally did it! I just placed my order for EB48 I can't wait! I have wanted this buggy since I got back into racing in October. I debated another brand and the Tekno won out! Putting together my list of other items to order right now

I did a bunch of researched before i bought mine. Like test driving bunch of different brand ebuggys out there. ae8.2 mugen mbx6 eco, kyosho mp9 tki2, sworks S350 BE-1 and I had the losi 2.0e. No one at my track had a tekno. So I bought one and built the kit put my own setup on it. Glad I bought the tekno. Only bad part for me is I can't order parts threw the track and get them at cost. On a side note I'm not sponsored by tekno only by team wallet and team debit card!!! Would I like to be sponsored by tekno yes!! Will be getting a sc410 very soon.

i built an exhaust on a formula SAE car with titanium. bending those pipes without them cracking and splitting was extremely difficult. maybe it was the grade titanium we had, but it was not very "ductile" as you said. a steel exhaust took all of 10 minutes to bend. i do agree that Ti is not a material for the job of hinge pins though.... my real world experiences with Ti do not follow what you have stated though.

How are the tekno springs vs kyosho compair in spring rate? I see the stock tekno springs rate is way lower than kyosho lt blue in the rear.

Was going to do the Tekno v4 conversion on my Ve8 and spruce it up with a new body and some of the lightweight Hara parts but after adding it up I'd be spending almost $250 and if I sell my Ve8 for $250 with all the spares I have I could spend about $50 more and have an entirely new buggy.

Have been trying to convince myself out of one for a while now but really can't now that it wouldn't cost me much more if I sell my Ve8.
