It can't simply be replaced with screws because the SS stator is soldered to the tabs at the back of the motor. It can be un-soldered and "replaced" but you would probably need stator from another SS motor to replace it with so I don't see how you would gain much. I've un-soldered and re-soldered the back end of one so I know this is possible.
I doubt you could replace an SS stator with a Ballistic stator because the wires on the back end of the Ballistic are a tad shorter than those on an SS stator.
