does anyone know if the stator in a Novak SS can be replaced like the ballistic?

It can't simply be replaced with screws because the SS stator is soldered to the tabs at the back of the motor. It can be un-soldered and "replaced" but you would probably need stator from another SS motor to replace it with so I don't see how you would gain much. I've un-soldered and re-soldered the back end of one so I know this is possible.

I doubt you could replace an SS stator with a Ballistic stator because the wires on the back end of the Ballistic are a tad shorter than those on an SS stator.

Novak has a legacy program that allows you to trade in old gear for a discount on newer upgraded motors. Check the website for details and pricing.
