Default no one will help on the b4.1 thread please help

hey guys i am having a weird problem with my b4.1 and just cant figure it out every time my shock is almost fully compressed into the shock body it makes a weird click it only happends with the front shocks. I also just rebuilt the shocks. i think the problem is come from something in the steering assemble but everything is built perfect in there so any input is helpfull

Does the click happen with the shocks off the car and you compress them?

Remove parts until you find the problem
1. Start by popping the ball cups off the steering arm
2. Remove camber links
3. take the castor/steering blocks of the A-arm and so on until you find the cause.

Good luck

First things first. Establish where the noise is coming from. Take the shocks off the car and see if the noise is still present and if it is, where is it coming from. Shocks don't just make clicking noises and still perform properly. That's not the way they are designed. My thoughts are that if your shocks internals are built right, which it sounds as though they are, then your issue is in a link somewhere that moves when you compress the suspension.

Spots to check:

Steering rack (inluding bearings in the rack)
ball cups (all of them)
hingepins, inner and outter
shock bushings
eyelet that the shock shaft threads into

If you take the shock off and the sound goes away, start undoing all your ball cups and then mount 1 shock at a time... test the shock by moving the suspension. If still no sound, attach one link (both ball cups) and repeat until you have gone through them all 1 at a time. If still no sound, do the entire left side... then do the entire right side....

If none of this works. buy a 22

some after market ball cups are a little big and can bind the steering rack at full compression.

Makes noise when full up travel. with or without the shock
Without the shock it may be in the suspension
With the shock it could be both.
How many limiters did you install in the shocks when you rebuilt them?

Gotta try to narrow it down to shock or car

to be more specific it is coming from the car because when the shocks are off the car and i compress the shocks themselves they are smooth as glass and i just rebuilt them. But when the shocks are on the car about 3cm before the shock is fully compressed there is a obnoxious little click that i can't figure out where it is coming from but now when i took the ball cup off from the front caster blocks and while the shocks are still on the care the clicking sound stops.

Either way you should have quoted your original post in the b4.1 thread and posted it again.
